MINUTES OF MEETING <br />PARIS -LAMAR COUNTY BOARD OF HEALTH <br />The Paris-Lamar County Board of Health held its regular <br />meeting on Wednesday, January 26, 2000, at McCuistion <br />Regional Medical Center. Members in attendance included <br />Dr. Ed' Clark, Dr. Bert Strom, Dr. Robert Moseley, Dr. <br />Wally Kraft, Mrs. Ann Norment, and Mrs. Francis Ellis. <br />others in attendance included Mr. Mike Malone, Judge Chuck <br />Su erville, Mr. Paul Swasko, Mr. Anthony Bethel, and Mr. <br />Bob Ricks. <br />The meeting was called to order at 7:18 am, and Mrs. <br />Norment made a motion that was seconded by Dr. Clark that <br />the minutes from the previous meeting be approved. The <br />motion carried. <br />Under discussion of training for food handlers, Mr. Bethel <br />passed out copies of ordinances from surrounding cities <br />regarding employee training. The City Attorney had <br />suggested Anthony speak to the restaurant owners <br />association and explain the suggested ordinance to them. <br />Dr. Kraft suggested grandfathering in all current food <br />employees and o ahead and provide training for them at no <br />g <br />chare, then charge any new employees hired after the <br />init'lal training r . Dr- Strom questioned if a franchised <br />company had training would that suffice for our course. <br />Anthony suggested it be other than in house. Mr. Malone <br />suggested that the Board request the City Council and <br />Commissioner's Court pass ordinances regulation food <br />handler training. No action was taken at the present <br />time. <br />Under discussion of the TIF grant, Mr. Bethel and Mr. <br />Ricks informed the Board of the status of the grant. The <br />grant is a request for $49,890 to purchase a new computer <br />network for the purpose of establishing internet <br />connectivity. The grants will be awarded in April, 2000. <br />Monthly reports were passed out to members. <br />The next meeting was scheduled for Wednesday, February 23, <br />2000, at Christus St. Joseph's Hospital.
