MINUTES OF MEETING <br />PARIS -LAMAR COUNTY BOARD OF HEALTH <br />The Paris -Lamar County Board of Health held its regular <br />meeting Wednesday, June 28, 2000, at Christus St. Joseph's <br />Hospital. Board members in attendance included Dr. Ed <br />Clark, Dr. Wally Kraft, Mrs. Ann Norment, and Dr. Caroline <br />Wilson. Others in attendance included Mr. Mike Malone, <br />Judge Chuck Superville, Mr. Paul Swasko, Mrs. LaDonna <br />Koehn, Mr. Anthony Bethel, and Mr. Bob Ricks. <br />The meeting was called to order at 7:20 am, and Mrs. <br />Norment made a motion that was seconded by Dr. Clark that <br />the minutes of the previous meeting be approved. The <br />motion carried. <br />Under election of officers, Dr. Clark made a motion that <br />was seconded by Dr. Wilson to elect Dr. Kraft chairman, <br />Dr. Clark vice chairman, and Mrs. Norment secretary. The <br />motion carried. <br />Under discussion of the Texas Infrastructure Fund Board <br />grant, Anthony passed out information to the Board, and <br />requested that the board allow him to sign the inter local <br />agreement. Mr. Malone and Judge Superville felt that the <br />Board could authorize Anthony to sign the agreement. Dr. <br />Clark made a motion that was seconded by Mrs. Norment that <br />Anthony be allowed to sign the inter local agreement on <br />behalf of the Board. The motion carried. <br />Under discussion of clients seen at the health department, <br />Anthony passed out a list of figures from 6 -99 through <br />5 -00 giving a breakdown of all services provided at the <br />Health Department and by provider. Dr. Clark mentioned <br />the CHIP program and asked Anthony to check and see if the <br />Health Department would be able to get a grant under this <br />program. <br />Paul Swasko informed the board that there is new tobacco <br />money available, and that he would appear before the <br />commissioners court on July 10th to ask that the money be <br />spent on health issues in Lamar County. <br />Anthony passed out monthly reports, and informed the board <br />that there have been 35 cases of Hepatitis A in Lamar <br />County since the first of the year, and that there are <br />three possible cases pending. The last case involved <br />Lollypop Learning Center, and Anthony informed the board <br />that the Health Department would be immunizing some of the <br />people involved this Thursday. <br />The next meeting was scheduled for July 26th, at lam, at a <br />location to be determined.
