City Council Drainage Study Committee
February 22, 2001
Page 7
Margie Bell, 624 Church Street, owner of the Tanglewood Apartments,
identified a drainage problem north of her apartment property. This
situation needs additional engineering review.
Lloyd Diggs, 908 19th Street NW, identified a drainage concern along 19th
NW where the water has no culvert to go through and is spreading across
the road and flooding his property. This concern merits further
engineering review and can possibly be addressed by a small city project
and some additional maintenance.
Connie Justice, 6th Street NE & Houston, identified a flooding problem at
this intersection which requires additional engineering review and is
recommended as a small project.
E. J. Griffis, 2230 W. Sherman, identified a drainage concern which
requires additional engineering review.
November 30, 2000 City Council Drainage Study Committee
Wayne Templeton, 1209 16th Street NW, identified a drainage concern
which needs additional engineering review.
Monte Cowley, 2230 College Drive, identified a drainage concern which
may be addressed by the proposed NRCS project or a small project.
Larry Fendley, 635 42nd SE, identified a drainage concern which may be
addressed by the proposed NRCS project and a possible a small project.
Ms. Arnold, 3500 Block of West Houston, identified a drainage concern
which staff recommends for additional engineering study.
City Manager Malone identified a project to replace a drainage pipe running
east from Church Street just north of the home owned by Arvin Starrett.
Beyond 3rds Street SE, the diameter of the pipe is smaller and should be
replaced with larger pipe. This drainage pipe has been overloaded,
resulting in water flooding Mr. Starrett's basement.
After discussion, a motion was made by Mayor Pro Tern Manning that the
staff be authorized to proceed with the small projects and engineering
study to address drainage concerns as were presented to the Committee
