MINUTES
AIRPORT ADVISORY BOARD
TUESDAY, JULY 26, 1977
7:00 O'CLOCK,P. M.
COX FIELD AIRPORT
PARIS, TEXAS
The Airport Advisory Board met in regular session at Cox Field Airport,
July 26, 1977 at 7:00 P.M. The meeting was called to order by Rick Rex,
Chairman. Other members present were Wayne Clement and Lawrence Mann.
Also present were Jim Collier, Nancy Jessee, Jimmy Wrenn, John Wright, Bob
Wright, James Howell, Cecil Hunneycutt and Mark Holland, a Cessna repre-
sentative from Austin, Texas.
The Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
Chairman, Rick Rex asked for a progress report on ADAP; none was available.
Bill Booth was not present to give a report on the ordinance changes.
Jim Collier reported that no progress had been made on the runway improve-
ment program. With
this in mind, it was also suggested that a meter be placed at the transmitter
site and that FAA pay their own electrical bill rather than a flat rate as
was suggested in their .presentation.
The FAA specified location of the tower was such that it could interfere
with any future expansion of the T- hangars to the north. It was suggested
that FAA be questioned about the possible location of the tower on top of
the hangar rather than at the side of the hangar.
The terms of the lease agreement, which would guarantee FAA ten to 15 years
use of the building provide no assurance to the City of Paris that the FAA
would stay that long. In view of the fact that the interior changes requested
by FAA could amount to several thousand dollars, it was felt that FAA should
give the City of Paris a guaranteed lease time. The suggestion was made that
