May 20, 1977
Mr. Joe McCollum
Director Community Development Planning
City Hall Annex South
Paris, Texas 75460
Dear Mr. McCollum:
The Board of Directors of Girls' Baseball of Paris is requesting that a determination
be made in the zoning for a concession stand for the Girls' Baseball Association
of 'Paris. Girls' Baseball of Paris has been recognized by the State of Texas as a
non- profit organization, and it holds a tax permit for this capacity.
The Girls' Baseball of Paris concession stand is to be located on the premises of
Oak Park Methodist Church at Bonham and 27th Southwest. The congregation of
Oak Park Methodist Church has graciously donated the use of their facilities for
the use of the Girls' Baseball.
We urge the City of Paris Development Committee to consider this request -for the
concession in a positive manner.
The operation of the Girls' Baseball is a seasonal sport, and will for the most part,
be in operation only in the spring and the summer. The Board wishes to emphasize
several goals which they plan to work toward during the future.
1. Establish a scholarship fund
2. Provide wholesome recreational activities for the girls of Paris
and Lamar County.
3. Assist the City of Paris in providing activities for the youth in
non- recreational areas when needed.
We therefore urge the members of the Community Planning Board to assist us
in helping our girls in the operation of their baseball and recreational program.
Sincerely yours,
Girls' Baseball of Paris
Donnie Ervin
Ervin
Secretary
