In the Council Room, following members present: 1. Raymond Puller 2. James lynch 3. Lee C. Pruitt b. Homer Thornton 5. Victorine Young In regular session Monday, June 6, City hail, Paris, Texas with the In the absence of the chairman and vice- chairman, Mr. Thornton was requested to serve as acting chairman and he called the meeting to order. Item one on the agenda was a public hearing to consider the petition of Lowry Carrington for a change in zoning from a Two Family Dwelling District (20 to an Office District (0) on part of Lots 2 and 3, City Block 248 -9. No one was present to represent the petition or speak in favor of the change. Virginia Jessee spoke Fn opposition to the change and submitted a petition signed by area residents requesting the zoning remain as it is. Joe McCollum, nirector of Community Development, read a letter from the Lamar County His'.:orical Commission opposing any drastic structural or aesthetic changes to the building due to the existance of a Texas State Historical Marker on the property. Following discussion, Mr. Lynch made a motion to recommend denial of the petition. Mr. Pruitt seconded the motion which carried unanimously. The next item was a public hearing to consider the petition of Mickey York for a change in zoning from an Agricultural District (A) to a Commercial District (C) on Lot 5, City Block 167 located can the northeast corner of Loop 286 S.E. and 'third S.E. Mr. York was present stating his proposal to operate a feed store at this location. He submitted a petition signed by four of the six adjacent land owners in support of the request. There was no one else present speaking for or against the petition and following discussion, Mr. Fuller made.a motion to recommend approval of the
