1% , .,.a- <br />Next, Kerry R, Si aim, City Manager, reported concerning the <br />Extraterritorial Jurisdiction, <br />The Final Plat of Sand Hill Estates, owned by Mike Julian and <br />Robert H. Smith, was presented to the Commission, with the Director <br />of Public Works' recommendation lhPt the same be approved. After <br />discussion, the motion was made by Homer Thornton, with second by <br />Al Cathcart that said plat be approved. The motion passed unanimously. <br />Next, the Cliairman explained that the Texas Highway <br />Department has r;aquested acquiescence in its conveyance of surplus <br />right of way to adjacent property owners. After discussion, the mo- <br />tion was made by Homer Thornton, with second by Al Cathcart, that <br />the Commission recommend that the right of way be declared surplus <br />since there was na public need for the same and that the same be <br />conveyed to adjacent property owners. <br />Next, the i2hairman announced that it was necessary that a <br />Chairman and Vice Chairman be elected to serve during 1974. Al <br />Cathcart, with se+:ond by Homer Thornton, nominated Roy H. <br />Anderson and Clark Estes, Jr. as Chairman and Vice Chairman re- <br />spectively. Herschel R. McKinney moved, with second by R. B. <br />Staples, Jr. , that nominations cease and that the nominees be <br />elected by acclamation.
