• r ? <br />Y <br />The tracts were considered individually as follows: <br />Tract No. 1: Change from a C (Commercial District) to an A (Agricultural <br />District) part of Lots 8, 9 and 10, City Block 188 -E located on the south <br />side of (New Jefferson Road) F.M. Highway•No. 1507, east of Sixth S.E. <br />Mr. Hardy Moore, representing Michel T. Halbouty, spoke in favor of the <br />change. No one else was present to comment on Tract No. 1. <br />Discussion followed and Dr. Miles moved that Tract No. 1 be recommended for <br />approval.' Mr. Fuller seconded the motion and all voted aye.. <br />Tract No. 2: Change from a C (Commercial District)to a SF -2 (One Family <br />Dwelling District), Lots 1, 2, 39 49 5 -A, 6, 6 -A, 60 and part of Lot 7, <br />City Block 186 -E, located between Old Jefferson Road and New Jefferson <br />Road east of Evergreen Street. <br />Mr. Moore again spoke in favor for Mr. Halbouty. There were no other <br />comments concerning Tract No. 2 and following discussion Mr. Adkins moved <br />that it be recommended for approval. Mr. Thornton seconded the motion and <br />all voted aye. Dr. Gilmore left the meeting at this paint. <br />Tract No. 3: Change from a C (Commercial District) to a SF -2 (One Family <br />Dwelling District) Lots 1 through 8, City Block 188 -C, Lots 2, 3, 3A, 4, 5, <br />5A, 5G and 5C, City Block 188 -D located between Sixth S.E. and Twelfth S.E., <br />north of .Old Jefferson Road. <br />Mr. Raymond Pomroy, 601 Jefferson Road, stated that he has operated a business <br />on the northeast corner of Sixth Street and Jefferson Road for about 18 years <br />on Lot 1, Block 188 -C and he wanted that property to remain zoned Commercial. <br />He said he also owned Lot 2, Block 188 -C but had no plans to develop it <br />commercially. <br />Mr. Paul W.-Horne, 795 Jefferson Road, owner of Lot 8, Block 188 -C, stated <br />that he manufactured fish bait, built custom fishing rods and operated an <br />electrical contracting business out of his house. He requested that his lot <br />remain zoned Commercial as he had plans to construct a small building behind <br />his house for business purposes. <br />Mr. Moore, again speaking for Mr. Halbouty, stated no opposition to Mr. Pomroy's <br />propeet <br />y remaining Commercial, but objected to Mr. Horne's request on the grounds <br />that if it remained Commercial, it would affect single family development. <br />Mr. Arch Hatch stated no objection to zoning his property SF -2. <br />M. J. Stewart and Juan Rhodes stated a preference for SF -2 zoning on their <br />properties. <br />Discussion followed and Mr. Thornton moved that Tract 3, except for Lot 1, <br />Block 188 -C, be recommended for approval and that Mr. Horne's property, Lot <br />8, Block 188 -C, be recorded as a non - conforming use with all the rights <br />provided by the Zoning Ordinance. Mr. Fuller seconded the emotion and all <br />voted aye. <br />
