MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF ADJUSTiMENT CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS AUGUST 29, 1971 The Goard of Adjustment met at 5 :25 P.M., August 29, 1974, in the City Council Room, City hall, Paris, Texas. Alternate Chairman Mallory called the [;oayvi Meeting into session with the following members present: F. D. Mallory, III, Dr. ,lames Brunette, Charlie Adkins and Ben Hinds. In the absence of Secretary Westfall, Joe McCollum, Director of Community Develop - ment was called upon to take minutes of the meeting. The first order of business was to select a permanent Chairman due to the resignation of Dr. Felty. Dr. Brunette nominated F. D. Mallory for Chairman. Mr. Adkins seconded the non4nation. There were no other nominations. The vote was upanimous for Par. '�allory. The petition of Mr. Jfim Moore as an appeal from the decision of the Building Inspector with a request for exception and variance to the Zoning Ordinance, Section 9, Sub - sections 101, 201, 301, 401, 501 and 501 can Lot B, Block 75-A fronting on Provine Alley was taken up at this time. T. Y. [Jaynes, City Attorney, reviewed the case stating that the house was constr uLted on the lent without penRits and was accidently discovered by the 6uildinn inspector. The Ji-d Waltcr Homes, builder of the house, was told to find another lot of suf icient size and mnove the house. Thomposn, representing Jim Walter Homes builder and Almeta Maxey, owner of the house, presented a sketch indicating the house to have a front yard of 15 feet and side yards of 2.5 feet. Fie stated that the builder made the mis- take % not taking out permits, but to move the house would cause financial hardship to the owner. PFotographs of the house and lot were reviewed by the Beard. Jae McCollum stated he and the Fire [iarshall had inspected the property and had taken the photographs. lie said the house was in line with the Existing houses and there was roo:is between houses to get to the back. During discussion of the natter it was pointed out that the house is being loved in without utilities and unfinished inside. The variances, if approved, would allow the house to be finished and utilities connected. Mr. Adkins made a motion "Co approve the request subject to the following: 1. Builder will secure proper permits as required by Ordinance 2. The house, when completed, shall meet the requirements of the Building Code. ter. Hinds seconded the motion and all members voted aye. There being no further business to come before the Board of Adjustment, Dr. Brunette proved and Mr. Adkins seconded, that the meeting be adjourned.
