MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF ADJUSrIERT <br />CITY OF PARTS, TEXAS <br />AUGUST 29, 1974 <br />The Loard of Adjustment met at 5.25 P.M., August 29, 1974, in the City <br />Council Roora, City Bull, Paris, Texas. Alternate Chairman Mallory called <br />the Board Meeting into session with the following members Present: F. D. <br />Hiallory, III, Dr. Janes Brunette, Charlie Adkins and Den Hinds. In the <br />absence of Secretary Westfall, Joe McColluri, Director of Community Develop- <br />ment was called upon: to take minutes of the meeting. <br />The first order of business was to select a permanent Chairman due: to the <br />resignation of Dr. Felty. Dr. Brunette nominated F. D. Mallory for Chairman. <br />Mr. Adkins seconded the nomination. There were no other nominations. The <br />vote was unanimous for Mr. Mallory. <br />The petition of Fir. tiim Moore as an appeal from the decision of the Buildinq <br />Inspector with a request ''or exception and variance to the Zoning Ordinance, <br />Section 9, Sub - sections 101, 201, 301, 401, 501 and 501 on Lot 8, Block 75 -A <br />fronting on Provine Alley was taken up at this tine. <br />T. K. Haynes, City Attorney, reviewed the case stating; that the house was <br />constructed on the lot v i Lhourt permits and was accidently discovered by the <br />i i)i idinq Inspector. Tae J ±i i lfal' ter Homes, builder of the house, was told <br />to find another lot of sufficient size and move the house. Thomposn, representing Jim Walter Homes builder and Almeta Maxey, owner <br />of the house, presented a sketch indicating the house to have a front yard of <br />15 feet and sine yards of 2.5 feet. Fie stated that the builder made the mis- <br />take in not taking out pemn its, but to move the house would cause financial <br />hardship to the owner. <br />Photographs of the house and lot were reviewed by the Board. Joe McCollum <br />;fated he and the Fire Marshall had inspected the property and had taken the <br />Photographs. He said the house was in line veith the existing houses and there <br />was room between houses to get to the back. <br />During discussion of the ratter it was pointed out that the house is being <br />lived in without utilities and unfinished inside. The variances, if approved, <br />would allow the house to be finished and utilities connected. <br />Mr. Adkins made a motion to approve the request subject to the following: <br />1. Builder will secure proper permits as required by Ordinance <br />2. The !rouse, when completed, small meet the requirements of the <br />Building Corte. <br />Mr. Hinds seconded the notion and all members voted aye. <br />There being no farther business to code <br />Brunette moved and Mr. Adkins seconded, <br />motion carried unanimously. <br />before the Board of Adjustment, Dr. <br />that the meeting be adjourned.
