MINUTES <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />BUILDING AND STANDARDS COMMISSION <br />MONDAY, JULY 20, 2009 <br />4:00 O'CLOCK P.M. <br />L Chris Brown called the Building and Standards Commission meeting to order at 4:00 <br />P.M. <br />A. The following members were present: <br />Chris Brown <br />Ryan Lassiter <br />Zach Saffle <br />Lee Ann Barbee <br />Wendell Moore <br />B. The following members were absent: <br />Bill Harris <br />Vicki Ballard <br />C. Also present was Robert Talley, Code Enforcement Officer. <br />2. Approval of minutes from previous meetings. (June 15, 2009) <br />Motion was made by Ryan Lassiter, seconded by Chris Brown to approve the minutes for <br />the June 15, 2009 meeting. <br />3. Public Hearing to consider presentations by City of Paris Code Inspectors and <br />owner(s) and/or lien holder(s) of the below properties who have been given notice of <br />a violation of Article III of Chapter 7 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Paris, <br />Paris, Texas, entitled "Substandard and Dangerous Buildings and Structures ": <br />A. 725 Park Street; Lot 4 and w /50' of 1, Block 3, McKnight Addition — Motion <br />was made by Zach Saffle, seconded by Wendell Moore, to allow 30 days to <br />demolish. If the property is not demolished in 30 days the City may demolish, <br />with a $1,000 per day civil penalty. Motion carried unanimously. <br />B. 1523 West Houston; Lot 13, City Block 198 - Motion was made by Zach Saffle, <br />seconded by Wendell Moore, to allow 30 days to demolish. If the property is not <br />demolished in 30 days the City may demolish, with a $1,000 per day civil penalty. <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br />C. 1331 Sperry Avenue; Lot 8, Block 2, Sperry's 2nd Addition - Motion was made <br />by Zach. Saffle, seconded by Wendell Moore, to allow 30 days to demolish. If the <br />property is not demolished in 30 days the City may demolish, with a $1,000 per <br />day civil penalty. Motion carried unanimously. <br />
