MINUTES <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />BUILDING AND STANDARDS COMMISSION <br />MONDAY, OCTOBER 19, 2009 <br />4:00 O'CLOCK P.M. <br />1. Chris Brown called the Building and Standards Commission meeting to order at 4:15 <br />P.M. <br />A. The following members were present: <br />Chris Brown <br />Ryan Lassiter <br />Wendell Moore <br />Vicki Ballard <br />B. The following members were absent: <br />Bill Harris <br />Zach Saffle <br />Lee Ann Barbee <br />C. Also present was Robert Talley, Code Enforcement Officer. <br />2. Approval of minutes from previous meetings. (August 17, 2009) <br />Motion was made by Vicki Ballard, seconded by Wendell Moore to approve the minutes <br />with corrections for the August 17, 2009 meeting. <br />3. Public Hearing to consider presentations by City of Paris Code Inspectors and <br />owner(s) and/or lien holder(s) of the below properties who have been given notice of <br />a violation of Article III of Chapter 7 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Paris, <br />Paris, Texas, entitled ASubstandard and Dangerous Buildings and Structures@ : <br />A. 22963 d Street S.E.; Lot 12, City Block 170 -C — Motion was made by Vicki <br />Ballard, seconded by Wendell Moore, to allow 30 days to demolish. If the <br />property is not demolished in 30 days the City may demolish, with a $1,000 per <br />day civil penalty. Motion carried unanimously. <br />B. 728 E. Austin; Lot 14, City Block 115 - Motion was made by Vicki Ballard, <br />seconded by Wendell Moore, to allow 30 days to demolish. If the property is not <br />demolished in 30 days the City may demolish, with a $1,000 per day civil penalty. <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br />C. 5000 E. Hickory; Lot 1.1, Block 1, Booth Addition - Motion was made by Vicki <br />Ballard, seconded by Wendell Moore, to allow 30 days to demolish. If the <br />property is not demolished in 30 days the City may demolish, with a $1,000 per <br />day civil penalty. Motion carried unanimously. <br />
