Division 86 <br />Wastewater Treatment - Mg e <br />The Director of Utilities is the administrative officer responsible for this division of the Utilities <br />Department which is funded in the Water and Sewer Fund. Employees of this division operate <br />the wastewater treatment plant, the sludge disposal fields, and the master lift station. The <br />Environmental Services personnel ensure compliance with all environmental regulations, enforce <br />the sewer use ordinance, and manage the Industrial Pretreatment Program required by the U. S. <br />Environmental Protection Agency and the Texas Natural Resource Conservation Commission. <br />The Environmental Services Laboratory performs tests on water and wastewater to assist the <br />plant operations, ensure compliance with state and federal permits, and maintain potable water <br />quality. <br />Division 87 <br />Lift Stations - page�55 <br />The Director of Utilities is the administrative officer responsible for this division of the Utilities <br />Department funded in the Water and Sewer Fund. Employees of this division operate and <br />maintain fifteen sewage lift stations and two bypass retention basins located in different areas of <br />the City. These lift stations pump wastewater to the wastewater treatment plant. Lift Station <br />personnel also operate and maintain the Flow Equalization Basins and Pump Station located on <br />Stillhouse Road, and the alarm system connected to all stations. <br />Division 80 <br />Warehouse - <br />The Finance Director is the administrative official responsible for this division of the <br />Finance Department. Funding for this activity is available through the Water and Sewer <br />Fund as the majority of the supplies maintained are used by the utility related <br />departments and divisions. Division personnel purchase, store, and distribute <br />materials, supplies, and tools used by City departments and divisions. A perpetual <br />inventory system is maintained. <br />Division 81 <br />Utility Billing and Collecting - <br />The Finance Director is the administrative official responsible for this division of the <br />Finance Department. Funding for this activity is available through the Water and Sewer <br />Fund. Employees of this division maintain all water, sewer, sanitation, and prorata <br />accounts. Included in this activity is meter reading and meter rereads, account billing, <br />account collection, service initiation, and service termination. <br />
