Department 62 <br />Paris Municipal Band - <br />The City Manager is the administrative officer responsible for this department. The <br />Paris Municipal Band is a tradition in Paris going back over fifty years. Talented local <br />musicians perform throughout the summer months with frequent guest artists making <br />appearances. Paris is one of a very few towns which continues to fund a municipal <br />band. <br />Department 42 <br />Public Works page '1:3 <br />The Director of Public Works is the administrative officer of this department and directs <br />the activities of the Solid Waste, Streets and Highways, Traffic and Public Lighting, and <br />Garage Divisions funded in the General Fund and the activities of the Water Distribution <br />and the Sewer Maintenance Divisions funded in the Water and Sewer Fund. <br />Administrative support is provided for construction, operations, and maintenance <br />activities. <br />Division 44 <br />Sanitation - pageA 47 <br />The Director of Public Works is the administrative officer for this division of the Public <br />Works Department. Employees of this division are responsible for the collection and <br />disposal of residential solid waste. Limbs and brush are collected separately and are <br />disposed of in the City Compost Facility. Street sweeping of the major thoroughfares, <br />collector streets, and residential streets is provided throughout the year to maintain <br />cleanliness in the City. <br />Division 46 <br />Streets and Highways - page,.31 <br />The Director of Public Works is the administrative officer for this division of the Public <br />Works Department. Personnel in this division maintain all City streets, right -of -ways, <br />alleyways, and drainage facilities to ensure proper drainage and safe and continuous <br />traffic flow, as well as cleaning and mowing right -of -ways and alleyways. A priority of <br />the Street'Division each year is the planning and implementation of a preventative <br />maintenance program consisting of applying chip -seal to a portion of the streets. The <br />hot -mix overlay of several miles of street each year and the upgrading of gravel and <br />unimproved streets are accomplished as funding is available. <br />
