PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION MEETING <br />MARCH 5, 2001 <br />The Planning and Zoning Commission met Monday, March 5, 2001 at 5:30 at Paris Junior College, <br />Applied Technology Building, Rm. 1016, 2400 Clarksville Street, Paris, Texas with the following <br />members present: <br />1. Marshall Kent <br />2. Vincent Battles <br />3. Bill Coleman <br />4. Curtis Fendley <br />5. Bobby L. Myers <br />6. Eddie Vincent <br />Steve Methven, the building official was also present. <br />The meeting was called to order by Marshall Kent. <br />1. The minutes from the February 5, 2001, regular planning and zoning meeting were <br />approved with a motion by Curtis Fendley seconded by Bobby Myers. Motion carried by a <br />vote of 6 ayes and 0 nays. <br />2. Public Hearing to consider the petition of Max Killingsworth, Jr. for a change in zoning <br />from a One - Family Dwelling District No. 2 (SF -2), to a Multiple- Family Dwelling <br />District No. 2 (MF -2), Lot 4, City Block 257 -A, being number 2354 E. Cherry. <br />The public hearing was declared open. <br />Max Killingsworth, 2625 Spur 139, spoke in favor of the petition stating that there are 4 or <br />5 duplexes in the area and he would like to build 2 duplexes on this property. He, also, stated <br />that there would be plenty of parking for the structures. <br />Ms. Theda Moore, 2308 E. Cherry, did not oppose the petition but wanted to know what kind <br />of materials would be used in the construction and if the tax value of her home would <br />increase. <br />Mr. Killingsworth stated that the construction would be brick veneer and he does not know <br />if his project would increase her taxes. <br />There was no opposition, the public hearing was declared closed. <br />3. Consideration of and action on the petition of Max Killingsworth, Jr. for a change in <br />zoning from a One - Family Dwelling District No. 2 (SF -2), to a Multiple - Family <br />Dwelling District No. 2 (MF -2), Lot 4, City Block 257 -A, being number 2354 E. <br />Cherry. <br />Motion was made to approve by Curtis Fendley and seconded by Eddie Vincent. Motion <br />carried by a vote of 6 ayes and 0 nays. <br />
