Mayor Fisher told Mr. Melton that normally that is correct -if they find <br />someone that is in violation who is already under the process of <br />construction something without a building permit. <br />Mr. Melton said that there were three houses there, his, and two <br />others, and one of the other one's got a building permit yesterday, and <br />the carport is identical to his. <br />Joe McCollum, Director of Community, came forward telling the Council <br />the that person was able to modify his carport by shortening it, which <br />permitted him to get a building permit. <br />Mayor Fisher instructed city staff to work on this matter between now <br />and the Thursday meeting in April, and requested that an- action item be <br />placed on the agenda for the Thursday night Council meeting. <br />City Manager Malone called consideration of and action on authorizing <br />the preparation of establishing a curfew. A motion was made by <br />Councilman Burnett, seconded by Councilman Booth authorizing <br />preparation of an Ordinance establishing a city wide curfew. The <br />motion carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Bell, seconded by Councilman Burnett <br />authorizing preparation of an ordinance amending Section 31 -112 of the <br />Traffic Code of the Code of Ordinances. The motion carried 7 ayes, 0 <br />nays. <br />ORDINANCE NO. 92 -011 <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS PROVIDING THAT THE CODE <br />OF ORDINANCES, CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, BE AMENDED BY ADDING <br />ARTICLE III TO CHAPTER 21; PROVIDING FOR THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A CURFEW <br />FOR CHILDREN DURING NOCTURNAL HOURS, TO PROVIDE CERTAIN REGULATIONS <br />CONCERNING THE USE OF STREET AND PUBLIC PLACES BY CHILDREN DURING <br />NOCTURNAL HOURS, AND TO PROVIDE FOR RELATED MATTERS SUCH AS AFFIRMATIVE <br />DEFENSES AND PARENTAL RESPONSIBILITIES; PROVIDING FOR PENALTIES; <br />PROVIDING THAT THIS ORDINANCE SHALL BE CUMULATIVE; PROVIDING A <br />SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION IN THE OFFICIAL <br />NEWSPAPER AND IN THE DOLLAR SAVER; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE OF <br />APRIL 15, 1992, AND A SUNSET PROVISION <br />was presented. A motion was made by Councilman Booth, seconded by <br />Councilman Shelton for adoption of the ordinance.
