RESOLUTION NO. 91 -001 <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did <br />heretofore on the 15th day of October, 1990, pass Resolution <br />No. 90 -088, which said resolution was incorrect and requires <br />correction; and, <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of -the City of Paris did <br />heretofore on the 12th day of November, 1990, pass Resolution <br />No. 90 -095, which said resolution requires amendment due to <br />the fact that the presiding judge for District Seven is <br />unavailable to perform her duties and must be replaced in <br />order that the election may be orderly conducted; NOW, <br />THEREFORE, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />PARIS, That Resolution Nos. 90 -088 and 90 -095, be, and the <br />same are hereby amended to read as follows: <br />"A RESOLUTION ORDERING A SPECIAL ELECTION TO BE HELD ON <br />THE THIRD SATURDAY IN JANUARY, 1991, SAME BEING THE 19TH DAY <br />OF JANUARY, 1991, BETWEEN THE HOURS OF 7:00 O'CLOCK A.M. AND <br />7:00 O'CLOCK P.M., BY THE QUALIFIED VOTERS OF THE CITY OF <br />PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, FOR THE PURPOSE OF AUTHORIZING THE <br />IMPOSITION OF SALES AND USE TAX UNDER SECTION 4A OF ARTICLE <br />5190.6 of VERNON'S ANNOTATED TEXAS STATUTES WHICH WOULD <br />ASSESS AN ADDITIONAL ONE -HALF OF 1% SALES AND USE TAX WITHIN <br />THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF PARIS, WHICH WOULD FUND A <br />CORPORATION TO CARRY OUT INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS AS <br />PERMITTED BY LAW. <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS: <br />Section 1. That a special election be held by the <br />qualified voters of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, on the <br />third Saturday in January, 1991, same being the 19th day of <br />January, 1991, between the hours of 7:00 o'clock A.M. and <br />7:00 o'clock P.M., for the purpose of authorizing the <br />imposition of sales and use tax under Section 4A of Article <br />5190.6 of Vernon's Annotated Texas Statutes which would <br />assess an additional one -half of 1% Sales and Use Tax within <br />the Corporate Limits Of The City of Paris, which would fund a <br />corporation to carry out industrial development programs as <br />permitted by law, no more than 10% of the revenue of which <br />may be spent for promotional purposes, which corporation may <br />not undertake a project the primary purpose of which is to <br />provide transportation facilities, sewage or _solid waste <br />disposal facilities, air or water pollution control <br />facilities or facilities for furnishing water to the general <br />public. <br />Section 2. That the polling places and election <br />officials of such election shall be as follows: <br />DISTRICT ONE (1): <br />Polling Place: T. G.
