Dick Boots, Director of Utilities, was present advising that the City has
the opportunity to rewrite the lease the way it should be written. Mr.
Boots said he did not feel it was exact enough in the past, and did not
go into detail as what should be planted. Two reasons for this is one is
the safety factor, two we need to put something on the property that will
look good all year. We have to be sure there are no grain crops grown
because of the attraction of birds. Mr. Boots stressed the importance of
researching this lease and having it written in the proper manner.
After discussion, a motion was made by Councilman Clifford, seconded by
Councilman Fendley not to renew the lease.
