66"' <br />Mayor Burnett called for discussion and action on administration of <br />the Hotel Motel Tax. <br />City Manager Malone informed the Council that a request has been made <br />by the Visitors and Convention Council of the Chamber of Commerce to <br />seek input from the City Council concerning the contract with that <br />organization for future administration of the Hotel Motel Tax in the <br />form of Visitors and Convention Council. <br />Dick Amis, 915 N. E. 28th appeared before the Council stating that <br />the contract that the Chamber of C nTwrce has with the City started <br />in 1976 and has been renewed in three year increments over that <br />period of time, and it will expire again September 30, 1987 and in <br />considering everyone's budget preparation and planning, would like to <br />move forward and renew this contract for another term. <br />Mayor Burnett stated that the Visitors and Convention Council in a <br />previous meeting had agreed to set aside approximately three cents of <br />the Hotel Motel Tax collection in a special fund for the purpose of a <br />convention center. <br />After discussion, a motion was made by Councilman Folmar to prepare a <br />lease agreement with the Chamber of Commerce that will have a common <br />expiration date as their contract with the City of Paris for <br />administrating the Hotel Motel Tax which expires September 30, 1987. <br />The motion was seconded by Councilman Hoog and carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Resolution No. 87 -037 authorizing and directing the Mayor, Billy Joe <br />Burnett to execute on behalf of the City of Paris Addendum No. 1 to <br />the Professional Service Contract with John Buss was presented. A <br />motion was made by Councilman Wortham, seconded by Councilman Francis <br />for approval of the Resolution. The motion carried 6 ayes, 1 nay, <br />Councilman Folmar voting no. <br />
