Mayor Burnett called for the tabulations of bids for exterior renovation of City Hall and Central Fire Station, and the following bids were presented: Restoration and Waterproofing Contractors - $46,490.00 Attebury Painting & Construction - $39,000.00 �^ Mid - Continental Restoration Co.- $43,214.00 Landmark Restoration and Waterproofing - $36,800.00 Advance Waterproofing & Restoration $78,780.00 Western Waterproofing Co. of America - $70,600.00 Ron Peterson, Staff Engineer, appeared before the Council recommending the low bid of Landmark Restoration and Waterproofing in the amount of $36,800.00. Mr. Peterson discussed items to be added to the original specification, one was concerning the red brick where a grout is rubbed on to the wall and wiped off and washed which would help waterproof the existing grout. Another method is to cut out 1/2 inch of the mortar and completely re -tuck the red brick. Mr. Peterson advised that the contractor has estimated the cost at approximately $12,000.00 to re -tuck point the red brick and this would have to be done by force account which would be within the budget. Mayor Burnett called for the tabulations of bids for one self - contained mini -dump for pickup trucks, and the following bids were presented: Motor Truck Equipment Corporation Total Cost without Deviations $2,289.00 Delivery 30 -45 days Mini -Dump Corporation Delivery $2,017.57 10 days City Manager Malone advised the Council that the recommendation is to award the bid to the low bid of Mini Dump Corporation in the amount of $2,017.57. City Manager Malone said that deviations from our specifications are of little significance to pay the additional $271.43. After discussion a motion was made by Councilman Wortham, seconded by Councilman Kent accepting the low bid of Mini Dump Corporation in the amount of $2,017.57. The motion carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. Resolution No. 87 -050 authorizing and directing the Mayor, Billy Joe Burnett to execute a contract for exterior renovation of the City Hall /Central Fire Station with Landmark Restoration and Waterproofing Company., Inc was presented. A motion was made by Councilman Bufford, seconded by Councilman Clifford for approval of the Resolution. The motion carried 7 ayes, 0 nays.
