?5j Mayor Burnett declared the public hearing open on the petition of Earl Jetton for a change in zoning from a One- Family Dwelling District No -3 (SF -3) to a Commercial District (C) on Lot 6, Block A, East Park Addition, located on the west side of 10th N. E., 137 feet south of Clement Road. Joe McCollum, Director of Community Development, appeared before the Council presenting a petition signed by property owners objecting to the zoning change, and advised that the Planning and Zoning Commission I voted 5 -0 to deny the zoning change. Mayor Burnett called for proponents to appear and Earl Jetton, 515 34th N. E. appeared before the Council in his behalf. Mr. Jetton told the Council that the people who's names were on the petition that was submitted had been misinformed, and Mr. Jetton presented a petition of property owners who were in favor of the zoning change. Mr. Jetton told the Council that he wanted to construct a metal building on this lot for his Overhead Door Business which would be used mostly for storage. Mayor Burnett called for opponents to appear and Cleveland Council, 1820 10th N. E. appeared before the Council stating that he was opposed to this zoning change. Mr. Council told the Council that Mr. Jetton has a garage and wrecking yard there now, and he was opposed to further commercial zoning. No one else appeared, and the public hearing was declared closed. After discussion, a motion was made by Councilman Wortham, seconded by Councilman Clifford for denial of the zoning change. The motion carried 6 ayes, 0 nays. Joe McCollum, Director of Community Development, presented the final plat of the Voorhies Estates, located approximately 4 1/2 miles from the Paris City Limits. Mr. McCollum advised the Council that this item had been tabled at a previous meeting, and he had been in contact with the Developer who has agreed to correct the plat regarding design of streets, right -of -way, and dead end street, and staff recommends approval of the plat. A motion was made by Councilman Clifford, seconded by Councilman Fendley to bring this item from the table. The motion carried 6 ayes, 0 nays. After discussion, a motion was made by Councilman Clifford, seconded by Councilman Bone to approve the final plat of the Voorhies Estates subject to the requirements of the City Engineer. The motion carried unanimously. Mr. McCollum presented a replat of Lot 8, and 9, Block B, Oak Creek Phase 2. Councilman Clifford requested to be excused due to conflict of interest.
