Resolution No. 84 -022 suspending rate request of the Lone Star Gas
<br />Company and calling for a public hearing for May 10, 1984, 5:15 P. M.
<br />was presented. A motion was made by Councilman Fisher, seconded by
<br />Councilman McWaters for adoption of the Resolution. The motion carried
<br />7 ayes, 0 nays.
<br />RESOLUTION NO. 84 -022
<br />WHEREAS, Lone Star Gas Company a division of Enserch
<br />Corporation did, on March 13, 1984, file a schedule of rates
<br />for gas service within the City of Paris, to become effec-
<br />tive April 18, 1984; and,
<br />WHEREAS, after having reviewed the proposed rate
<br />schedule and having received information from Lone Star Gas
<br />Company, it is the opinion of the City Council of the City
<br />of Paris, that such schedule of rates should be suspended
<br />for a period of 90 days from April 18, 1984, for study,
<br />investigation, receipt of evidence and public hearing before
<br />the City Council of the City of Paris at its Regular Council
<br />Meeting on the 10th day of May , 1984; and,
<br />WHEREAS, a copy of this resolution has been provided
<br />Lone Star Gas Company prior to its consideration by the City
<br />Council of the City of Paris; NOW, THEREFORE,
<br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
<br />PARIS, that pursuant to Section 43 (d) of the Public Utility
<br />Regulatory Act, that the operation of the Lone Star Gas
<br />Company's proposed rate schedule filed with the City of
<br />Paris, Paris, Texas, on the 13th day of March, 1984, be, and
<br />the same is hereby suspended for a period of 90 days for
<br />further study, investigation, receipt of evidence and public
<br />hearing; and,
<br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a public hearing, be, and
<br />the same is hereby set for 5:15 o'clock P.M., on the 10th
<br />day of May, 1984, in the Council Room, City Hall, Paris,
<br />Texas, for the purpose of receiving any and all information
<br />ermane to Lone Star Gas Company's request for rate
<br />ncreases, filed in the form'of a schedule of rates with the
<br />City of Faris on the 13th day of March, 1984.
<br />Passed and adopted this 9th day of April, 1984.
