Resolution No. 84 -021 suspending action on the rate request of the Texas
<br />Power & Light Company and calling for a public hearing for May 10th,
<br />1984 5:15 P.M. was presented. A motion was made by Councilman Wilson,
<br />seconded by Councilman Hoog for adoption of the Resolution. The motion
<br />carried 7 ayes, 0 nays.
<br />RESOLUTION NO. 84 -021
<br />WHEREAS,; Texas Power & Light Company did, on March 9,
<br />1984, file a schedule of rates for electric service within
<br />the City of Paris, to become effective April 13, 1984; and,
<br />WHEREAS, after having reviewed the proposed rate
<br />schedule and having received information from Texas Power &
<br />Light Company, it is the opinion of the City Council of the
<br />City of Paris, that such schedule of rates should be
<br />suspended for a period of 90 days from April 13, 1984, for
<br />study, investigation, receipt of evidence and public hearing
<br />before the City Council of the City of Paris at its Regular
<br />Council Meeting on the 10th day of May , 1984; and,
<br />WHEREAS, a copy of this resolution has been provided
<br />Texas Power & Light Company prior to its consideration by
<br />the City Council of the City of Paris; NOW, THEREFORE,
<br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
<br />PARIS, that pursuant to Section 43 (d) of the Public Utility
<br />Regulatory Act, that the operation of the Texas Power &
<br />Light Company's proposed rate schedule filed with the City
<br />of Paris, Paris, Texas, on the 9th day of March, 1984, be,
<br />and the same is hereby suspended for a period of 90 days for
<br />further study, investigation, receipt of evidence and public
<br />hearing; and,
<br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a public hearing, be, and
<br />the same is hereby set for 5:15 o'clock P.M., on the 10th
<br />day of May , 1984, in the Council Room, City Hall, Paris,
<br />Texas, for the purpose of receiving any and all information
<br />germane to Texas Power & Light Company's request for rate
<br />increases, filed in the form.of a schedule of rates with the
<br />City of Paris on the 9th day of March, 1984.
<br />Passed and adopted this 9th day of April, 1984.
