1 !? r MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL January 9, 1984 r The City Council of the City of Paris met in regular session, Monday January 9, 1984, 7:00 P.M. in the Council Room of City Hall. Mayor Graham called the meeting to order with the following Councilmen present: Donald G. Wilson, George Fisher, Jeff Hoog, Gene McWaters, Jr., Nathan Bell, and Albert Ware. Also present were City Manager, David H. Doty, City Attorney, T. K. Haynes, and City Clerk, H. C. Greene. Prayer was offered by Rev. Verl Hart. Mayor Graham asked if there were any corrections to the minutes of previous meetings and there being none, the minutes were approved as presented. Mrs. Louise Johnson appeared before the Council representing Midwest Video. Mrs. Johnson gave an update on Midwest Video services and requested a committee meeting of the City Council to discuss a transfer of the franchise to an new Corporation. Rev. Verl Hart appeared before the Council and advised of a Paris Television Station proposed to be dedicated to religious items. Rev. L. 0. Evans appeared before the Council and discussed the Martin L. King Jr. day celebration. City Attorney Haynes presented an Ordinance revising the composition of the Fire Department. After discussion, a motion was made by Councilman Bell, seconded by Councilman Fisher to table the Ordinance. The motion carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. Director of Engineering John Buss appeared before the Council and presented an Ordinance amending the Wastewater Discharge and Disposal Ordinance. ORDINANCE NO. 84 -003 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS PROVIDING THAT THE CODE OF ORDINANCES, CITY OF PARIS, BE AMENDED BY REVISING CHAPTER 31, SECTIONS 31 -37 THROUGH SECTION 31 -34 OF SAID CODE; REVISION ARTICLE III OF SAID CHAPTER WHICH ESTABLISHES A SEWER SYSTEM AND CONTROLS THE USE OF THE SAME; PROVIDING FOR A PENALTY NOT TO EXCEED $200.00; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE OF FEBRUARY 1, 1984. was presented. A motion was made by Councilman Wilson, seconded by Councilman McWaters for adoption of the ordinance. The motion carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. City Attorney Haynes presented an Ordinance concerning Hazardous Buildings.
