1 !? r <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br />January 9, 1984 <br />r <br />The City Council of the City of Paris met in regular session, Monday <br />January 9, 1984, 7:00 P.M. in the Council Room of City Hall. Mayor <br />Graham called the meeting to order with the following Councilmen <br />present: Donald G. Wilson, George Fisher, Jeff Hoog, Gene McWaters, <br />Jr., Nathan Bell, and Albert Ware. Also present were City Manager, <br />David H. Doty, City Attorney, T. K. Haynes, and City Clerk, H. C. <br />Greene. <br />Prayer was offered by Rev. Verl Hart. <br />Mayor Graham asked if there were any corrections to the minutes of <br />previous meetings and there being none, the minutes were approved as <br />presented. <br />Mrs. Louise Johnson appeared before the Council representing Midwest <br />Video. Mrs. Johnson gave an update on Midwest Video <br />services and requested a committee meeting of the City Council to <br />discuss a transfer of the franchise to an new Corporation. <br />Rev. Verl Hart appeared before the Council and advised of a Paris <br />Television Station proposed to be dedicated to religious items. <br />Rev. L. 0. Evans appeared before the Council and discussed the Martin L. <br />King Jr. day celebration. <br />City Attorney Haynes presented an Ordinance revising the composition of <br />the Fire Department. After discussion, a motion was made by Councilman <br />Bell, seconded by Councilman Fisher to table the Ordinance. The motion <br />carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Director of Engineering John Buss appeared before the Council and <br />presented an Ordinance amending the Wastewater Discharge and Disposal <br />Ordinance. <br />ORDINANCE NO. 84 -003 <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS PROVIDING THAT THE CODE <br />OF ORDINANCES, CITY OF PARIS, BE AMENDED BY REVISING CHAPTER 31, <br />SECTIONS 31 -37 THROUGH SECTION 31 -34 OF SAID CODE; REVISION ARTICLE III <br />OF SAID CHAPTER WHICH ESTABLISHES A SEWER SYSTEM AND CONTROLS THE USE OF <br />THE SAME; PROVIDING FOR A PENALTY NOT TO EXCEED $200.00; REPEALING ALL <br />ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING <br />FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE OF FEBRUARY 1, 1984. <br />was presented. A motion was made by Councilman Wilson, seconded by <br />Councilman McWaters for adoption of the ordinance. The motion carried 7 <br />ayes, 0 nays. <br />City Attorney Haynes presented an Ordinance concerning Hazardous <br />Buildings. <br />
