4
r J _.
Mr. McMonigle made a motion to remove from the table, the matter of proper
zoning upon annexation of a 149 acre tract of land located on U.S. Highway
No. 82 between the East City Limits of Paris and the West City Limits of
Reno. Mr. Nutt seconded the motion which carried 6 ayes, 0 nays.
Mr. McCollum reviewed the existing zoning in the vicinity as well as the
existing land use of the area under consideration to be annexed. He noted
that there were several businesses along the highway along with several
residences and one industrial use. He suggested that, lat a minimum, the
existing uses should be covered by the proper zoning.
Considerable discussion was held and the concensus of the Commission was to
zone as much as possible in a Planned Development District allowing retail
uses, A zoning plan was recommended for approval on a motion by Mr. Woolston,
seconded by Mr. McMonigle and is attached hereto as Exhibit E. The motion
carried 5 ayes, 0 nay and 1 abstain. Mr. Davidson abstained from the voting.
Chairman Swaim instructed Mr. McCollum to request the City Manager to place
for discussion on the next regular Council meeting, amending the ordinance
to require asphalt or concrete surfacing for off street parking and providi g
a Planned Development District for commercial land uses.
With no further business to consider, the meeting was adjourned.
M.' t P-L-.--
o N.
