I () y) RESOLUTION NO. 84 -001 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did heretofore create the Emergency Medical Service Department of the City of Paris for the purpose of providing emergency j pre- hospital care and transportation to medical facilities for citizens of Paris; and, WHEREAS, the City of Paris did enter into contract with the County of Lamar to extend such emergency medical service to citizens of Lamar County residing outside of the City of Paris; and, WHEREAS, in order to provide advance life support services to the citizens of Lamar County, it is a require- ment of the Emergency Medical Services Act, Article 44470, VTCS, effective January 1, 1984, that medical supervision and control be provided by a licensed physician; and, WHEREAS, Dr. Alice Cox and Dr. Bill Woodruff have agreed to act as co- medical directors of the Emergency Medical Service provided by the City of Paris; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, that Dr. Alice Cox and Dr. Bill Woodruff, be, and they are hereby designated co- medical directors for the Emergency Medical Service of the City of Paris and are empowered to perform the duties and obligations enumerated in the Emergency Medical Service Act. Resolution No. 84 -002 designating Blake Road from east boundary line of 6th Street N. E. east to the west boundary line of 20th Street N. E. as Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, effective January 14, 1984 was presented. A motion was made by Councilman Fisher, seconded by Councilman Ware for adoption of the Resolution. The motion carried 7 ayes, 0 nays.
