I () y) <br />RESOLUTION NO. 84 -001 <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did <br />heretofore create the Emergency Medical Service Department <br />of the City of Paris for the purpose of providing emergency <br />j pre- hospital care and transportation to medical facilities <br />for citizens of Paris; and, <br />WHEREAS, the City of Paris did enter into contract with <br />the County of Lamar to extend such emergency medical service <br />to citizens of Lamar County residing outside of the City of <br />Paris; and, <br />WHEREAS, in order to provide advance life support <br />services to the citizens of Lamar County, it is a require- <br />ment of the Emergency Medical Services Act, Article 44470, <br />VTCS, effective January 1, 1984, that medical supervision <br />and control be provided by a licensed physician; and, <br />WHEREAS, Dr. Alice Cox and Dr. Bill Woodruff have <br />agreed to act as co- medical directors of the Emergency <br />Medical Service provided by the City of Paris; NOW, <br />THEREFORE, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />PARIS, that Dr. Alice Cox and Dr. Bill Woodruff, be, and <br />they are hereby designated co- medical directors for the <br />Emergency Medical Service of the City of Paris and are <br />empowered to perform the duties and obligations enumerated <br />in the Emergency Medical Service Act. <br />Passed and adopted this 9th day of January, 1984. <br />J e Gra am, Mayor <br />ATTEST: <br />C re ne , City Clerk <br />APPROVED AS TO FORM: <br />Haynes , City ttorney <br />Mayor Graham presented a petition from citlZpns of District One <br />proposing that Blake Road be redesignated Dr, Martin Luther King Jr. <br />Drive. <br />Resolution No. 84 -002 designating Blake Road from east boundary line of <br />6th Street N. E. east to the west boundary line of 20th Street N. E. as <br />Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, effective January 14, 1984 was presented. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Fisher, seconded by Councilman Ware for <br />adoption of the Resolution. The motion carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />
