E. between Lamar Avenue and Leight Drive. <br />Mr. McCollum advised the Council that the Planning and Zoning Commission <br />had recommended approval with the vote 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Mayor Graham called for proponents to appear and Mr. A. W. Clem Attorney <br />appeared in behalf of the petitioner. <br />Mayor Graham called for opponents to appear and none appeared and the <br />public hearing was declared closed. <br />ORDINANCE NO 84 -002 <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 1710 OF THE CITY OF PARIS, <br />PARIS, TEXAS AND CHANGING THE BOUNDARIES ESTABLISHED BY THE ZONING MAP <br />OF SAID CITY; ESTABLISHING A COMMERCIAL DISTRICT (C) ON A 8.62 ACRE <br />TRACT OF LAND LOCATED ON THE EAST SIDE OF LOOP 286 S. E. BETWEEN LEIGH <br />DRIVE AND LAMAR AVE., ON PROPERTY BELONGING TO JAMES W. FARRIS, SO AS TO <br />INCLUDE THEREIN TERRITORY FORMERLY DESIGNATED AS AN AGRICULTURAL DIS- <br />TRICT (A); AND DESIGNATING THE BOUNDARIES OF THE COMMERCIAL DISTRICT (C) <br />SO ESTABLISHED. <br />was presented. A motion was made by Councilman Bell, seconded by <br />Councilman Hoog for approval of the Ordinance. The motion carried 6 <br />ayes, 0 nays. <br />Mayor declared the public hearing open on the petition of Monte Moore <br />for a change in zoning from SF -2 to Commercial on Lot 8, City Block <br />222 -B located at 69 27th N. E. <br />Mr. McCollum advised the Council that the Planning and Zoning Commission <br />had recommended denial of the petition by a vote of 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Mayor Graham called for proponents to appear and Mr. Monte Moore ap- <br />peared in his behalf. <br />Mayor Graham called for opponents to appear and Mrs. Michael Marr, 2624 <br />E. Price appeared and presented a petition of several citizens objecting <br />to the rezoning. Mr. Gene Skinner appeared in behalf of Mrs. M. A. Gage <br />to express opposition. Mrs. Clare Devlin also appeared in opposition to <br />the petition. <br />Mayor Graham declared the public hearing closed. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Bell, seconded by Councilman Fisher to <br />deny the request.
