".e�� <br />r 1 <br />ar.. <br />Mayor Graham called for opponents to appear and William King and Linda <br />Williams appeared in opposition to the petition. <br />Mayor Graham declared the public hearing closed. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Fisher, seconded by Councilman Wilson to <br />deny the request. The motion carried 5 ayes, 1 nay, Councilman McWaters <br />voting nay. <br />Mayor Graham declared the public hearing open on the petition of Ronald <br />Billman for a change in zoning from MF -1 to GR on Lots 16 and 17, City <br />Block 220 located on the northeast corner of 17th N. E. <br />Mr. McCollum advised the Council that the Planning and Zoning Commission <br />had recommended approval by a vote of 7 -0. <br />Mayor Graham called for proponents to appear and Mr. Ronald Billman <br />appeared in his behalf. <br />Mayor Graham called for opponents to appear, and none appeared and the <br />public hearing was declared closed. <br />ORDINANCE NO. 84 -001 <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE NO 1710 OF THE CITY OF PARIS, <br />PARIS, TEXAS AND CHANGING THE BOUNDARIES ESTABLISHED BY THE ZONING MAP <br />OF SAID CITY; ESTABLISHING A GENERAL RETAIL DISTRICT (GR) ON LOTS 16 AND <br />17 CITY BLOCK 220, ON PROPERTY BELONGING TO RONALD BILLMAN, SO AS TO <br />INCLUDE THEREIN TERRITORY FORMERLY DESIGNATED AS A MULTI- FAMILY DWELLING <br />DISTRICT NO. 1 (FM -1); AND DESIGNATING THE BOUNDARIES OF THE GENERAL <br />RETAIL DISTRICT (GR) SO ESTABLISHED. <br />was presented. A motion was made by Councilman Wilson ,seconded by <br />Councilman Bell for approval of the Ordinance. The motion carried 6 <br />ayes, 0 nays. <br />Mayor Graham declared the public hearing open on the petition of Sam <br />Gentle for a change in zoning from SF -2 to MF -1 on Lots 7 and 8, City <br />Block 255 -A located at 2635 and 2645 E. Price Street. <br />Mr. McCollum advised the Council that the Planning and Zoning Commission <br />had recommended approval by a vote of 6 ayes, 1 nay. <br />Mayor Graham called for proponents to appear and Sam Gentle appeared in <br />his behalf. Two other residences of the area appeared in behalf of the <br />petitioner stating that they had no objections to Mr. Gentle converting <br />a garage into a living unit. <br />Mayor Graham called for opponents to appear and none appeared and the <br />public hearing was declared closed. <br />During discussion, it was suggested that the petitioner might find <br />relief through the Board of Adjustments. After further discussion, a <br />motion was made by Councilman Bell, seconded by Councilman Williams to <br />93 <br />I. <br />
