' r MINUTES OF THE REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING OF THE CITY OF PARIS March 12, 1984 The City Council of the City of Paris met in regular session, Monday, March 12, 1984 7:00 P.M. Mayor Graham called the meeting to order with the following Councilmen present: Donald G. Wilson, George Fisher, Jeff Hoog, A. L. Ware, and Gene McWaters, Jr. Also present were City Manag- er, David H. Doty, City Attorney, T. K. Haynes, and City Clerk H. C. Greene. Prayer was offered by Rev. Robertson. Mayor Graham asked if there were any corrections to the minutes of previous meetings and there being none, the minutes were approved as presented. Mrs. Sandy Shannon appeared before the Council requesting permission to hold a parade in conjunction with the Y.W. C. A. Art Fair Saturday, May 5, 1984. A motion was made by Councilman Hoog, seconded by Councilman Wilson approving the request. The motion carried 6 ayes, 0 nays. Mr. J. P. Shull, District Manager of Texas Power & Light Company ap- peared before the Council and formally presented a rate increase pro- posal stating that the proposal averaged 8% increase. Mr. James Andrew, 1363 West Shiloh appeared before the Council to discuss a water and street problem. The matter was referred to the Drainage Committee for their study., A petition was presented to the Council requesting the abandon of a alley located in Block 1 Wortham - Carlton Addition and City Block 202. A motion was made by Councilman Fisher, seconded by Councilman McWaters instructing the City Attorney to prepare necessary documents for closing of the alley. The motion carried 6 ayes, 0 nays. Mayor Graham declared the public hearing open for consideration of annexation of a 90.62 acre tract owned and occupied by Merico, Inc. located on the east side of 19th N. W. between W. Center Street and Loop 286 N. W. No one appeared in the audience concerning the proposed annexation, and the public hearing was declared closed. Mayor Graham stated that no action was necessary at this time. Mayor Graham requestedythe Council's consideration of bids received for an Ammoniator and the following bids were presented: Wallace & Tiernan $4,854.00 70 days Delivery Joe Cobler Service Co. $4,945.00 9 weeks Bowles & Eden Company Return forms completed with no bid
