' r <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING OF THE CITY OF PARIS <br />March 12, 1984 <br />The City Council of the City of Paris met in regular session, Monday, <br />March 12, 1984 7:00 P.M. Mayor Graham called the meeting to order with <br />the following Councilmen present: Donald G. Wilson, George Fisher, Jeff <br />Hoog, A. L. Ware, and Gene McWaters, Jr. Also present were City Manag- <br />er, David H. Doty, City Attorney, T. K. Haynes, and City Clerk H. C. <br />Greene. <br />Prayer was offered by Rev. Robertson. <br />Mayor Graham asked if there were any corrections to the minutes of <br />previous meetings and there being none, the minutes were approved as <br />presented. <br />Mrs. Sandy Shannon appeared before the Council requesting permission to <br />hold a parade in conjunction with the Y.W. C. A. Art Fair Saturday, May <br />5, 1984. A motion was made by Councilman Hoog, seconded by Councilman <br />Wilson approving the request. The motion carried 6 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Mr. J. P. Shull, District Manager of Texas Power & Light Company ap- <br />peared before the Council and formally presented a rate increase pro- <br />posal stating that the proposal averaged 8% increase. <br />Mr. James Andrew, 1363 West Shiloh appeared before the Council to <br />discuss a water and street problem. The matter was referred to the <br />Drainage Committee for their study., <br />A petition was presented to the Council requesting the abandon of a <br />alley located in Block 1 Wortham - Carlton Addition and City Block 202. A <br />motion was made by Councilman Fisher, seconded by Councilman McWaters <br />instructing the City Attorney to prepare necessary documents for closing <br />of the alley. The motion carried 6 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Mayor Graham declared the public hearing open for consideration of <br />annexation of a 90.62 acre tract owned and occupied by Merico, Inc. <br />located on the east side of 19th N. W. between W. Center Street and Loop <br />286 N. W. <br />No one appeared in the audience concerning the proposed annexation, and <br />the public hearing was declared closed. <br />Mayor Graham stated that no action was necessary at this time. <br />Mayor Graham requestedythe Council's consideration of bids received for <br />an Ammoniator and the following bids were presented: <br />Wallace & Tiernan $4,854.00 70 days Delivery <br />Joe Cobler Service Co. $4,945.00 9 weeks <br />Bowles & Eden Company Return forms completed with no bid <br />
