a <br />ORDINANCE NO. 2624 <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, PROVIDING THAT THE CODE OF <br />ORDINANCES , CITY OF PARIS, BE AMENDED BY ADDING SECTIONS 19--16 AND 19 -17 <br />TO TBE CODE OF ORDINANCES; PROVIDING FOR THE PERMITTING OF TEMPORARY PLACE - <br />MENT AND OCCUPANCY OF TRAVEL TRAILERS; PROVIDING FOR A PENALTY NOT TO EXCEED <br />$200.00; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT IEFEWITH <br />AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE OF APRIL 215 1982. <br />was presented. A motion was made by Councilman McGee, seconded by Councilman <br />Wilson for adoption of the Ordinance. The motion carried 6 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Mayor Pro Tem Williams.called for.the reading of an Ordinance amending the <br />Appropriation Ordinance for'the General Fund because of the tornado disaster. <br />ORDINANCE NO. 2625 <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 2578 AMENDING THE BUDGET OF THE CITY OF <br />PARIS FOR THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING JULY 1, 1981 AND ENDING JUNE 30, 1982; <br />REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT =;EWITH AND <br />PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />was presented. A motion was made by Councilman Fisher, seconded by Councilman <br />McGee for adoption of the Ordinance. The motion carried 6 ayes, 0 nays. <br />City Manager Sokoll requested authorization to advertise for bids for a pickup <br />truck for the Sanitation Department. After discussion, a motion was made by <br />Councilman Wilson, seconded by Councilman McWaters approving the request. The <br />motion carried 6 ayes, 0 nays. <br />City Attorney Haynes presented the following referrals: Ray Spencer on Lot 1, <br />City Block 85, from Single Family Dwelling No. 2 to Light Industrial; Jim Kirby <br />East 110 Feet of Lot 9, City Block 331, from Planned Development Retail and <br />Office to a One Family Dwelling District No. 2. <br />Mayor Pro Tem Williams referred the petitions to the Planning and Zoning <br />Commission for their study and recommendation and called for a public hearing <br />at the next regular council meeting. <br />City Manager Sokoll presented a request for out of town water service for W. R. <br />Abbott for Abbott Furniture located on Highway 271 North. <br />Mr. William R. Abbott appeared before the Council in his behalf making the <br />request. After discussion, a motion was made by Councilman Francis, seconded <br />by Councilman McGee approving the request for out of town water service. The <br />motion carried 4 ayes, 2 nays, Councilman Wilson and Councilman McWaters voting <br />nay. <br />Councilman McGee requested that the city consider annexation of said property <br />and that this item be placed on the next regular council agenda. <br />City Manager Sokoll and Director of Community Development, Joe McCollum reviewed <br />various Federal Grants. City Manager Sokoll advised that there was a possible <br />grant immediately available for the EDA for $95,000.00 for Economic Adjustment <br />Program with a duration of one year. <br />
