r, <br />MINUTES OF THE.$PECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY OF PARIS <br />May - 20,1982 <br />The special meeting of the City Council of the City of Paris was held Thursday, _ _J <br />May 20, 1982, 6:00 P. M. Mayor Graham called the meeting to order with the <br />following Councilmen present: Donald G. Wilson, Gene McWaters, Jr., Walter F. <br />Williams, George Fisher, Jr., and W. C. Francis. Also present were City <br />Manager, R. W. Sokoll, City Attorney, T. K. Haynes, and City Clerk H. C. Greene. <br />Mayor Graham requested a motion to bring from the <br />Innerarity to re -zone Lot 2, City Block 126 for a <br />Family Dwelling District No. 1 to an Office Distr <br />corner of 7th S. W. and W. Kaufman. A motion was <br />Seconded by Councilman McWaters to bring from the <br />Innerarity. The motion carried 6 ayes, 0 nays. <br />table the petition of Lloyd <br />change in zoning from a Multi - <br />ict, located on the northwest <br />made by Councilman Fisher, <br />table the petition of Lloyd <br />Mr. Lloyd Innerarity appeared before the Council and presented a site and elevation <br />plan for a proposed commercial structure to house the Regional office of the <br />Department of Human Resources. Several residents were in the audience and Mr. <br />Innerarity exposed the site and elevation plan to the residents. Mr. Hardy <br />Moore, Attorney appeared before the Council and presented a survey of the lot <br />in question. After discussion, a motion was made by Councilman Fisher, seconded <br />by Councilman Williams to deny the zoning. The motion carried 4 ayes, 2 nays, <br />Councilman McWaters, and Councilman Wilson voting nay. <br />Mayor Graham announced that the Council would go into a budget work session. <br />In discussion the Health Department, discussion was had on the establishment <br />of a Health District with taxing authority to finance the local Health Unit <br />and the Emergency Medical Service. Mayor Graham appointed a committee to study <br />the Health District Project composed of Councilman Wilson, Councilman Fisher, <br />and Councilman McGee. <br />The Council proceeded in its workshop. <br />There being no further business, the meeting adjourned. <br />JOE GRAHAM.
