Mayor Graham called for proponents to appear and Mrs. Rhodes appeared in her behalf. Upon questioning Mrs. Rhodes stated that she would accept Multi- Family Zoning in place of the Commercial District Zoning as requested in the petition. Mayor Graham called for opponents to appear and none appeared, and the public hearing was declared closed. ORDINANCE NO. 2639 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 1710, OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, AND CHANGING THE BOUNDARIES ESTABLISHED BY THE ZONING MAP OF SAID CITY; ESTABLISHING A MULTI - FAMILY DWELLING DISTRICT NO. 1 (MF -1) ON LOT 18, CITY BLOCK 311, ON PROPERTY BELONGING TO VERA MAE RHODES, SO AS TO INCLUDE THEREIN TERRITORY FORMERLY DESIGNATED AS A ONE FAMILY DWELLING DISTRICT NO. 2 (SF -2); AND DESIGNATING THE BOUNDARIES OF THE MULTI - FAMILY DWELLING DISTRICT NO 1 (MF -1) SO ESTABLISHED. was presented. A motion was made by Councilman Williams to approve the Ordinance substituting Multi- Family District rather than Commercial District. The motion was seconded by Councilman Wilson, and carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. Mayor Graham declared the public hearing open on the proposed annexation and appropriate zoning upon annexation of 38.7 acres on the north side of Stone Ave. between the North Lamar School and U. S. Highway No. 271. Mr. Don McLaughlin, representing Mrs. Estelle Council, appeared before the Council opposing the annexation except for that portion needed to meet the minimum State law requirements. No one else appeared before the Council and the public hearing was declared closed. After discussion, a motion was made by Councilman Williams, seconded by Councilman McWaters to annex the Abbott Furniture property and that portion of the Estelle Council property needed to meet minimum State law requirements and that the property of Mrs. Council be annexed from west to east 500 feet on Stone Ave. The motion carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. The final plat of the Young Addition was presented to the Council with recommendation from the Planning and Zoning Commission to approve the plat changing the 15 foot alley to a 20 foot alley on the south end. Joe McCollum, Director of Community Development, appeared before the Council stating that Mr. Jim Kerby had requested the approval with- out the alley. After discussion, a motion was made by Councilman Fisher, seconded by Councilman Williams to refer back to the Planning and Zoning Commission the final plat of the Young Addition. The motion carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. City Attorney Haynes presented the following petitions for rezoning: Judy Lyde, Lot 5, City Block 227 -D from 2F District to Neighborhood Service District; Annette Sherfield, Lot 28, Block Q, East Park Addition from SF -3 to Neighborhood Service District.
