MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL July 12, 1982 The regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Paris was held Monday, July 12, 1982, 7:00 P. M. Mayor Graham called the meeting to order with the following Councilmen present: W. C. Francis, George Fisher, Jr., Gene McWaters, Jr., Walter F. Williams, and Donald G. Wilson. Also present were City.Manager, R. W. Sokoll, City Attorney, T. K. Haynes, and City Clerk, H. C. Greene. Prayer was offered by the Rev. Dick Adkinson. Mayor Graham asked if there were any corrections to the minutes of previous meeting, furnished to the Council members. There being no corrections, the minutes were approved. Mayor Graham announced that the first order of business would be consideration of recommendations made by the Planning and Zoning Commission. Mayor Graham declared the public hearing open on the petition of Robert J. McDougall for a change in zoning from a General Retail District to a Commercial District on Lots 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7, City Block 248 located on the southeast corner of Clarksville Street and 17th S. E. No one appeared for or against the petition and the public hearing was declared closed. — ORDINANCE No. 2635 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 1710, OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, AND CHANGING THE BOUNDARIES ESTABLISHED BY THE ZONING MAP OF SAID CITY: ESTABLISHING A COMMERCIAL DISTRICT (C) ON LOTS 3, 4, 5, 6, AND 7, CITY BLOCK 248, ON PROPERTY BELONGING TO ROBERT J. MCDOUGALL, SO AS TO INCLUDE THEREIN TERRITORY FORMERLY DESIGNATED AS A GENERAL RETAIL DISTRICT (GR); AND DESIGNATING THE BOUNDARIES OF THE COMMERCIAL DISTRICT (C) SO ESTABLISHED. was presented. A motion was made by Councilman Fisher, seconded by Councilman Williams for adoption of the Ordinance. The motion carried 6 ayes, 0 nays. Mayor Graham declared the public hearing open on the petition of Betty Ruth Bills Houston for a change in zoning from a One Family Dwelling District No. 3 to a Multi- Family Dwelling District No. 1 on part of Lots 8, 9, 10, and 11, Block 10, Belmont Addition located on the southwest corner of 12th N. W. and Fairfax Ave. Mayor Graham called for proponents to appear and Mrs. Houston appeared in her behalf. Councilman McGee entered the Council Chambers and assumed his chair at the Council table. Mrs. Houston presented a petition of property owners in the area involved.
