I I I <br />i <br />City Manager Sokoll requested authorization to advertise for bids for <br />a display writer for the City Attorney's office. After discussion, <br />a motion was made by Councilman McGee, seconded by Councilman McWaters, <br />to table the matter. The motion carried 5 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Councilman Williams advised the Council that he had requested the <br />EDA Grant matter to be put on the agenda and requested to know how <br />many names would be required on a petition for the review of the <br />EDA Grant by the City Council. After discussion, Councilman Williams <br />made a motion that the City Manager pursue getting the approval for <br />a EDA Grant. The motion died for lack of a second. <br />After further discussion a motion was made by Councilman Williams, <br />seconded by Councilman Wilson to invite some knowledgeable person <br />to appear before the Council to discuss the EDA Grant. GREENE, CITY CLERK. <br />MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY OF PARIS <br />August 3, 1982 <br />The special meeting of the City Council of the City of Paris was held, Tuesday, <br />August 3, 1982, 5:15 P. M. Mayor Graham called the meeting to order with the <br />following Councilmen present: W. C. Francis, George Fisher, Jr., Gene McWaters, <br />Jr., and Walter F. Williams. Also present were City Manager, R. W. Sokoll, City <br />Attorney, T. K. Haynes, and City Clerk, H. C. Greene. <br />Mayor Graham announced that the special meeting was called for the purpose of <br />awarding a contract for installation of sewer pipe on the Pine Creek Project. <br />Mayor Graham called for the tabulations of bids and the following bids were <br />presented: <br />Dual Construction Co., Inc. $ 89,426.00 <br />National Pipe Improvement 98,975.44 <br />Tri -J Construction Co., Inc. 120,680.00 <br />Mainline Construction Co., Inc. 123,810.00 <br />Prior to the awarding of bids, Mr. Tom Bass, President, Dual Construction Company, <br />appeared before the Council stating that Dual Construction Company plans to <br />do the job themselves rather than sub - contract, and that the Channel Construction <br />Company of Houston, Texas would probably be employed to do the fusing of the pipe. <br />After discussion, a motion was made by Councilman Francis, seconded by Councilman <br />McWaters to accept the bid of the Dual Construction Company. The motion carried <br />5 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Resolution No. 2194 authorizing the Mayor to enter into a contract with Dual <br />Construction Company for the Pine Creek Sewer Project was presented. A motion <br />was made by Councilman Francis, seconded by Councilman McWaters for adoption of <br />the Resolution. The motion carried 5 ayes, 0 nays. <br />
