I I I i City Manager Sokoll requested authorization to advertise for bids for a display writer for the City Attorney's office. After discussion, a motion was made by Councilman McGee, seconded by Councilman McWaters, to table the matter. The motion carried 5 ayes, 0 nays. Councilman Williams advised the Council that he had requested the EDA Grant matter to be put on the agenda and requested to know how many names would be required on a petition for the review of the EDA Grant by the City Council. After discussion, Councilman Williams made a motion that the City Manager pursue getting the approval for a EDA Grant. The motion died for lack of a second. After further discussion a motion was made by Councilman Williams, seconded by Councilman Wilson to invite some knowledgeable person to appear before the Council to discuss the EDA Grant. MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY OF PARIS August 3, 1982 The special meeting of the City Council of the City of Paris was held, Tuesday, August 3, 1982, 5:15 P. M. Mayor Graham called the meeting to order with the following Councilmen present: W. C. Francis, George Fisher, Jr., Gene McWaters, Jr., and Walter F. Williams. Also present were City Manager, R. W. Sokoll, City Attorney, T. K. Haynes, and City Clerk, H. C. Greene. Mayor Graham announced that the special meeting was called for the purpose of awarding a contract for installation of sewer pipe on the Pine Creek Project. Mayor Graham called for the tabulations of bids and the following bids were presented: Dual Construction Co., Inc. $ 89,426.00 National Pipe Improvement 98,975.44 Tri -J Construction Co., Inc. 120,680.00 Mainline Construction Co., Inc. 123,810.00 Prior to the awarding of bids, Mr. Tom Bass, President, Dual Construction Company, appeared before the Council stating that Dual Construction Company plans to do the job themselves rather than sub - contract, and that the Channel Construction Company of Houston, Texas would probably be employed to do the fusing of the pipe. After discussion, a motion was made by Councilman Francis, seconded by Councilman McWaters to accept the bid of the Dual Construction Company. The motion carried 5 ayes, 0 nays. Resolution No. 2194 authorizing the Mayor to enter into a contract with Dual Construction Company for the Pine Creek Sewer Project was presented. A motion was made by Councilman Francis, seconded by Councilman McWaters for adoption of the Resolution. The motion carried 5 ayes, 0 nays.
