RESOLUTION NO. 2153 <br />WHEREAS, Cecile Roden, a member of the Historic <br />Landmark Preservation Committee, representing the Lamar <br />County Genealogy Society has resigned; and, <br />WHEREAS, the Mayor of the City of Paris has appointed <br />Don Black to serve the remainder of Cecile Roden's term, <br />which will expire on June 30, 1983; NOW, THEREFORE, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />PARIS, that the appointment of Don Black, as a member of <br />the Lamar County Genealogy Society, to serve the remaining <br />term of Cecile Roden, which expires June 30, 1983, is hereby <br />approved and confirmed by the City Council of the City of <br />Paris. <br />Passed and adopted this 8th day of March, 1982, <br />ATTEST: <br />H. C, Gre ne, City Clerk <br />APPROVED AS TO FORM: <br />T. K. Haynes, City Attorney <br />City Manager Sokoll advised that Councilman Kohls had requested an item be placed <br />on the agenda for discussion concerning alley maintenance policy within the City. <br />City Manager Sokoll made the following statement: <br />"The current policy is that the City will maintain alleyways in the condition <br />that they were in when they were first accepted by the City. The driveways in <br />the North Park Estates and Morningside Addition are not alleyways nor does the <br />City have easements for them. We do have easements in the Springlake Addition <br />and have an obligation to maintain them. Lovers Lane, west of 33rd S. E. is a <br />dedicated roayway and is the City's responsibility to maintain. The Street <br />Department has been instructed to patch the chug holes." <br />Dr. David Carpenter, 3245 Mahaffey appeared before the Council and discussed the <br />drainage situation in the roadway known as Lover's Lane. Dr. Carpenter advised <br />that he had spent several dollars at tempting to improve the drainage on his lot <br />and on Lover's Lane. After discussion, a motion was made by Councilman Kohls, <br />seconded by Councilman Graham to direct the City to repair the drainage with <br />funds of the Revenue Share Fund. The motion carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Resolution No. 2154 authorizing the Mayor to execute on behalf of the City of <br />Paris the Supplemental Agreement No. 1 to lease No. DTFA07 -L -01106 was presented. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Graham, seconded by Councilman McGee, for adop- <br />tion of the Resolution, The motion carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />J <br />
