Mayor Burnett called for the reading of a Resolution expressing the appreciationR 7. <br />to volunteers that helped in the Paris tornado disaster. A motion was made by Ij <br />Councilman Graham, seconded by Councilman Williams to table the matter until <br />a later Councilman meeting. The motion carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Mayor Burnett called for the reading of a Resolution declaring an emergnency <br />and authorizing the Director of Finance to receive and disburse disaster funds. <br />City Attorney Haynes requested the Council to table the item for future Council <br />meeting. A motion was made by Councilman McGee, seconded by Councilman Graham <br />authorizing the preparation of the Resolution. for future Council meeting. The <br />motion carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />City Manager Sokoll requested authorization to take bids for removal and <br />disposal to tornado debris and setting a special Council meeting for the <br />purpose of awarding said bid for Wednesday April 14th, 1982, at 6:00 P. M. A <br />motion was made by Councilman Kohls ,seconded by Councilman McGee approving the <br />request. The motion carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Director of Community Development, Joe McCollum appeared before the Council <br />explaining the policy of the City regarding placement of mobile homes on <br />residential lots. <br />Mr. Don Wilson, Councilman elect, appeared before the Council and spoke on the <br />matter. <br />Mayor Burnett called for a report from the committee appointed to study the <br />Citizens Redevelopment Committee Report. Chairman Williams advised that no <br />report was preparted for the meeting. A motion was made by Councilman Williams, <br />seconded by Councilman McGee to table the matter. The motion carried 7 ayes, 0 <br />nays. <br />Mr. Norman Walker appeared for the State of Texas discussed the temporary <br />emergency housing and would like the City's assistance in placing mobile home <br />on a temporary basis within the City. <br />City Manager Sokoll advised that six contractors had picked up bids for debris <br />removal, and stated that approximately 30 to 35% had been removed by City Forces <br />and volunteers. <br />Mayor Burnett announced that the City would go into executive session to discuss <br />legal matters with the City Attorney, and the regular session was declared closed <br />and the executive session open. <br />Legal matters were discussed with the City Attorney. <br />Mayor Burnett declared the executive session closed and the regular session open. <br />There being no further business, the meeting adjourned. <br />BILLY.
