V r. <br />6 <br />The undersigned respectfully request that the City Council of Paris take <br />immediate action to alleviate this flooding in our area of the City before <br />continuing any further private or public construction." - <br />Gary Patterson, 3415 Robin Road appeared before the Council and made a map <br />presentation of the drainage problem in the area from 31st. Street east to <br />the Loop, and East Houston to the north. <br />Mr. Chuck Bally appeared before the Council requesting that immediate action be <br />made concerning drainage in the area. <br />Mrs. Ruth Smith appeared before the Council also in support of drainage in the <br />area. <br />Mr. Bruce Hood, 3340 Robin Road appeared before the Council stating that he had <br />had no flooding in the past 10 years until this Spring and that he felt that his <br />problem came from water from 31st S. E. <br />Mayor Malone referred the matter to the committee appointed earler to study <br />the drainage problem. <br />City Manager Sokoll requested authorization for the preparation of an Ordinance <br />removing $1.00 landfill charge from the water bills. A motion was made by <br />Councilman Williams, seconded by Councilman Fisher for approval of the request. <br />The motion carried. 6 ayes, 0 nays. <br />City Manager Sokoll requested authorization for preparation of an Ordinance <br />re- imposing 1% Sales Tax on residential Gas and Electricity. A motion was <br />made by Councilman Fisher, sr-oned by Councilman Kyle for approval of the <br />request. The Motion carried 6 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Ciyt Manager Sokoll requested authorization for preparation of an Ordinance <br />for staffing changes in the Police and Fire Department as reflected in the <br />proposed 1979 -80 Budget. A motion was made by Councilman Burnett, seconded <br />by Councilman Fisher approving the request. Motion carried 6 ayes* 0 nays. <br />Resolution No. 1936 re- appointing Edmon Castleberry, Mrs. Frank Fuller, and <br />Mrs. Herbert Turner, as members of the Band Commission was presented. A <br />motion was made by Councilman Burnett, seconded by Councilman Williams for <br />adoption of the Resolution. The motion carried 6 ayes, 0 nays. <br />
