Motion carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Mayor Malone requested the Council consideration of a previously authorized <br />Ordinance establishing stop signs at various streets. <br />ORDINANCE NO. 2433 <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS PROVIDING THAT THE CODE OF <br />ORDINANCES, CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS BE AMENDED BY REVISING THE TRAFFIC - <br />CONTROL DEVICE MAP ADOPTED IN PARAGRAPH (b) OF SECTION 29 -80 OF SAID CODE: <br />PROVIDING FOR A PENALTY NOT TO EXCEED$200.00: REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR <br />PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH: AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE <br />DATE OF MARCH 1, 1979. <br />was presented. A motion was made by Councilman Wunsch, seconded by Council- <br />man Fisher for adoption of the Ordinance. Motion carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />riayor Malone requested the Council's attention to the recommendation of the <br />Traffic Commission for a stop sign on 35th Street N. E. at Pine Mill Road. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Williams, seconded by Councilman Fisher <br />authorizing the preparation of an Ordinance covering the matter. Motion <br />carried 7 ayes, O nays. <br />Mayor Malone called the attention of the Council to the recommendation by the <br />Traffic Commission for the elimination of a loading zone on Kaufman Street <br />adjacent to the Lone Star Gas Company. A motion was made by Councilman <br />Fisher, seconded by Councilman Williams authorizing the preparation of an <br />Ordinance concerning the matter. Motion carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Mayor Malone invited the Council's attention to the request of the Airport <br />Board concerning raising the monthly rental rate in the large hanger for <br />twin engine airplanes from $40.00 to $45.00 A motion was made by Councilman <br />Fisher, seconded by Councilman Burnett for approval of the increased rates. <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br />Mr. Jim Collier appeared before the Council advising that the FAA had <br />recommended certain minor changes in the Operation Manual of the Cox <br />Field Airport. Mr.- Collier discussed briefly the recommended changes. <br />After discussion a motion was made by Councilman Farris, seconded by <br />Councilman Burnett to approve the recommended changes to the Airport <br />Manual. Motion carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Mayor Malone requested the Council's consideration to a previously <br />authorized Ordinance revising the Plumbing Code. <br />ORDINANCE NO. 2434 <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS PROVIDING THAT THE CODE OF <br />ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF PARIS BE AMENDED BY REVISING SECION 24 -1 TO <br />ADOPT 1977 TEXAS MUNICIPAL LEAGUE PLUMBING CODE, WITH AMENDMENTS; REPEALING <br />ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING <br />FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE OF MARCH 1, 1979. <br />was presented. Discussion was had prior to the question concerning the penality <br />for failure to secure a plumbing permit. A motion was made by Councilman <br />Burnett seconded by Councilman Philley that a $20.00 per day penal.ity be <br />included in the Ordinance. Motion carried 5 ayes, 2 nays, Councilman Farris <br />and Councilman Wunsch voting nay. A motion was made by Councilman Burnett <br />seconded by Councilman Fisher for adoption of the Ordinance. Motion carried <br />6 ayes, 1 nay. Councilman Farris voting nay. <br />Mayor Malone called for tabulation of bids received for a depository contract <br />for a two year period beginning March 1, 1979. City Manager Sokoll recommended <br />that the bid be awarded to the Liberty National Bank as the best bid. <br />Resolution No. 1920 authorizing and directing the Mayor to execute on behalf of <br />the City of Paris a contract with the Liberty National Bank to act as a <br />depository for the City of Paris for a two year period beginning March-1, 1979 <br />was presented. A motion was made by Councilman Wunsch, seconded by Councilman <br />Williams for adoption of the Resolution. Motion carried .6 ayes, 0 nays, Council- <br />man Farris abstaining from voting. _.- <br />
