RESOLUTION NO. 1927 <br />WHEREAS, the City of Paris wishes to encourage the orderly <br />development of its landmass, giving consideration to its existing <br />natural beauty, demands for economic opportunity of its citizenry, <br />and at the same time retain the ecological, environmental and <br />aesthetic qualities which make this community unique; and, <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City Council of the City <br />of Paris to encourage existing and prospective developers to con- <br />sider these important aspects along with the economic require- <br />ments of their proposed development for the benefit of the <br />"total community "; NOW, THEREFORE, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF- THE CITY <br />OF PARIS, That a balanced consideration be made which will <br />protect and conserve the value of all properties involved in the <br />development; and, _ <br />BE . IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That all developers be <br />strongly encouraged to develop a landscape plan which will be in <br />harmony with the desired use of the property- in question, the <br />terrain of the proposed site, the location of the site, (site <br />development should harmonize with the surrounding area) and be <br />compatible with existing city ordinances and zoning restrictions; <br />and,. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That all prospective deve -_- <br />lopers shall be encouraged to file the said landscape plan with <br />the Department of Community Development at the time that the <br />required building permit is requested, and this landscape plan <br />will be reviewed by the Planning and Zoning Commission before <br />being permanently filed for public inspection with the Department <br />of Community Development; and, <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the City of Paris <br />strongly encourages the preservation of existing trees and <br />shrubs when possible or the replacement and reposition of <br />suitable trees,. shrubs and other plants in tastefully placed <br />green areas, planter boxes or like areas when the preserva- <br />tion of existing flora is impossible; and, <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the developer assumes <br />the full responsibility to make arrangements for the continuous <br />care and enhancement of the landscaped area so that the desig- <br />nated green area will not deteriorate into an area of public <br />neglect; and, <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the City Council of the <br />City of Paris considers a well- planned landscaped area to be an <br />economic asset to the developer. <br />Passed and adopted this 9th day of April, 1979. <br />ATTEST: <br />ity Ier� <br />Michael E. alone, Mayor <br />
