ORDINANCE NO. 2441 <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 1710 OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, <br />TEXAS, AND CHANGING THE BOUNDARIES ESTABLISHED BY THE ZONING PAP OF SAID <br />CITY; ESTABLISHING A PUBLIC LANDS AND INSTITUTIONS DISTRICT (PLI) ON LOT 6, <br />BLOCK C, SANDHILL ESTATES; THE EAST 50 FEET OF LOT 5A, BLOCK 2, HAYES <br />HEIGHTS ADDITION; AND ALL OF LOT 14, CITY BLOCK 294, ON PROPERTY BELONGING <br />TO PARIS INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT, SO AS TO INCLUDE THEREIN TERRITORY <br />FORMERLY DESIGNATED AS A OWE - FAMILY Dt ^FELLING DISTRICT NO. 2 (SF -2); AND <br />DESIGNATING THE BOUNDARIES OF THE PUBLIC LANDS AND INSTITUTIONS DISTRICT <br />(PLI) SO ESTABLISHED. <br />was presented. A motion was made by Councilman Wunsch, seconded by <br />Councilman Philley. Motion carried 6 ayes, 0 nays. <br />City Attorney Haynes presented a' petition from Wayne and Gene Brown for <br />a change in zoning on 5.36 acres located between Neatherly and E. Sherman <br />at 13th S. E. street, from Office and Specific Use -Home for the Aged to <br />!Multi- Family one District. Mayor Malone referred the petition to the <br />Planning and Zoning Commission for their study and recommendations and <br />called for a public hearing at the next regular Council Meeting. <br />Mayor Malone called for the reading of a previously authorized Ordinance <br />on stop signs. <br />ORDINANCE NO. 2442 <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS PROVIDING THAT THE CODE <br />OF ORDINANCE, CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS BE MENDED BY REVISING THE <br />TRAFFIC - CONTROL DEVICE MAP ADOPTED IN PARAGRAPH (b) OF SECTION 29 -30 <br />OF SAID CODE; PROVIDING FOR A PENALTY NOT TO EXCEED $200.00; REPEALING <br />ALL ORDINANCE OR PARTS OF ORDINANCE IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING <br />FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE OF MAY 1, 1979. <br />was presented. Motion was made by Councilman Burnett, seconded by Councilman <br />Fisher for adoption of the Ordinance. Motion carried 6 ayes, 0 nays. <br />City Manager Sokoli presented a request from the State Department of Highways <br />and Public Transportation for a cooperative agreement for widing and improve- <br />ments including curb and gutter, and drainage on State Highway 24 from Ever- <br />green Street South to the City Limits. Mr. Richard Stauter of the Department <br />appeared before the Council stating that estimates had been made on the <br />drainage project in the amount of $168,000.00, curb, and gutter $639000.00, <br />and the re- location of sewer mains in the amount of $16,000.00. Upon <br />questioning Mr. Stauter advised that alternates for drainage would be open <br />ditches in back of curbs which would be highly undesirable, and a two year <br />flood drainage program estimated to be $45,000.00. <br />After discussion, a motion was made by Councilman Philley, seconded by <br />Councilman Wunsch to table the request in order that the Council might <br />consider the matter in its up coming budget workshop. Motion carried <br />6 ayes, 0 nays. <br />City Manager Sokoll advised the Council of the need to up date the employees <br />group hospitalization insurance coverage to comply with federal regulations <br />in regard to maternity coverage. Finance Director Greene advised the Council <br />that new legislation required that maternity benefits be treated as any other <br />type of illness. After discussion, a motion was made by Councilman Burnett, <br />seconded by Councilman Wunsch to approve the up dating of the employee's <br />group hospitalization insurance coverage to comply w,rith the regulations. <br />I-lotion carried 5 ayes, 1 nay. .Councilman Philley voting nay. <br />Mayor Malone called for the reading of a previously authorized Resolution <br />regarding landscaping. <br />Resolution. No. 1927 encouraging developers to develope a landscape plan and <br />file same with City of Paris and encouraging the preservation of existing <br />trees and shrubs when possible was presented. Motion was made by Council- <br />man Wunsch, seconded by Councilman Burnett to adopt the Resolution. Motion <br />carried 5 ayes, 1 nay. Councilman Philley voting nay. <br />
