Mayor Brunette called for a report from the committee appointed to study the estab- <br />lishment of a Judicial Department. Councilman Malone, speaking as chairman of the <br />committee, stated that the committee recommended that a Judicial Department be es- <br />tablished and that the City Judge be named as head of the department. <br />Mayor Brunette announced that the main purpose of the special Council meeting was to <br />consider recommendations of the City Council for amendments to the City Manager's <br />— 'budget presented on May 27, 1977. <br />Mayor Brunette declared the public hearing open on the proposal to eliminate $50,000.00 <br />from the General Fund budget for the development of Wise Field into a playground area. <br />No one appeared for or against the proposition. <br />Mayor Brunette declared the public hearing closed. <br />Councilman Fisher and Councilman Williams expressed their opinions that the present <br />park should be developed rather than develop new ones. <br />After discussion,.a motion was made by Councilman Wunsch and seconded. by Councilman <br />Stone to reinstate $50,000.00 for the development of Wise Field into the General <br />Fund budget - Account No. 403 -Y -15. The motion carried: 4 ayes, 3 nays, Councilman <br />Fisher, Councilman Malone,.and Councilman Williams voting nay. <br />Mayor Brunette declared the public hearing open On the proposition of removing from <br />the Revenue Sharing Fund budget - Account No. 406 -Y -6, for storm sewer.drainage im- <br />provements to the Wise Field facility. <br />Mr. Norman Davis appeared questioning the deletion of $18,000.00 from the Wise Field <br />Project for drainage improvements. <br />—lyor Brunette declared the public hearing closed. ..A motion was made by Councilman <br />lnsch and seconded by Councilman Williams to delete $13,000.00 from the storm sewer <br />project at Wise Field. The motion carried: 6 ayes, 1 nay, Councilman Philley voting <br />nay. <br />Mayor Brunette requested City Manager Sweatt to review the paving project on 24th S. E. <br />from the railroad track south to Jefferson Road. City Manager Sweatt.advised that <br />$95,000.00 had been deleted from the city manager's budget upon recommendation of the <br />
