Mayor Brunette called for a report from the committee appointed to study the estab- lishment of a Judicial Department. Councilman Malone, speaking as chairman of the committee, stated that the committee recommended that a Judicial Department be es- tablished and that the City Judge be named as head of the department. Mayor Brunette announced that the main purpose of the special Council meeting was to consider recommendations of the City Council for amendments to the City Manager's — 'budget presented on May 27, 1977. Mayor Brunette declared the public hearing open on the proposal to eliminate $50,000.00 from the General Fund budget for the development of Wise Field into a playground area. No one appeared for or against the proposition. Mayor Brunette declared the public hearing closed. Councilman Fisher and Councilman Williams expressed their opinions that the present park should be developed rather than develop new ones. After discussion,.a motion was made by Councilman Wunsch and seconded. by Councilman Stone to reinstate $50,000.00 for the development of Wise Field into the General Fund budget - Account No. 403 -Y -15. The motion carried: 4 ayes, 3 nays, Councilman Fisher, Councilman Malone,.and Councilman Williams voting nay. Mayor Brunette declared the public hearing open On the proposition of removing from the Revenue Sharing Fund budget - Account No. 406 -Y -6, for storm sewer.drainage im- provements to the Wise Field facility.
