After discussion, a motion was made by Councilman Fisher and seconded by Councilman <br />Wunsch authorizing the preparation of an. ordinance, placing responsibility of the <br />- operation of the Paris Public Library with the City of Paris. The motion carried: <br />5 ayes, 2 nays, Councilman Williams and Councilman Philley voting nay. <br />Mayor Brunette called for the tabulation-of bids received for a drainage structure, <br />located at Mahaffey Lane and south of Clark Lane. City Manager Sweatt advised that <br />one bid had been received, that being from Bill Haley in the- amount of $4,867.50 <br />for the 101 linear feet of structure. .City Manager Sweatt advised that the City's <br />portion of the bid would be $2,409.66 and that the adjoining property owners' por- <br />tion would be $2,457.84. City Attorney Haynes advised thatxthe property owners were <br />in agreement under the same terms as were included in previous bids and agreements. <br />Resolution No. 1813, authorizing City Manager Sweatt to execute on behalf of the City <br />of Paris a contract with Bill Haley for construction work on the drainage channel in <br />the amount of $4,867.50, was presented. A motion -was made by Councilman Wunsch and <br />seconded by Councilman Malone for the adoption of the resolution. The motion car- <br />ried: 7 ayes, 0 nays. __ <br />
