The motion carried: 6 -ayes, 0 nays. <br />City Attorney Haynes presented as the next step in annexation of property located o <br />Highway 82 West, south of Bonham Street Ordinance No. 2318: — <br />"AN ORDINANCE SETTING A DATE, TIME AND PLACE FOR PUBLIC HEARINGS <br />BEFORE THE PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF PARIS <br />AND THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS ON THE PROPOSED ANNEXA- <br />TION OF CERTAIN PROPERTY BY THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, AND <br />APPROPRIATE ZONING UPON ANNEXATION, AND AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING <br />THE MAYOR TO PUBLISH NOTICE OF SUCH PUBLIC HEARINGS." <br />A motion was made by Councilman Swaim and seconded by Councilman Philley for the <br />adoption of the ordinance. The motion carried: 6 ayes, 0 nays. <br />City Attorney Haynes presented petitions for re- zoning from Joel A. May for Lot 9, <br />City Block 206, from Two- Family Dwelling District to Office District and Specific <br />Use - Antique.Shop;from Johnny D. Todd, for re- zoning from Single Family Dwelling <br />District No. 2 to Neighborhood Service District on Lot 8, City Block 296.. Mayor <br />Pro -Tem Hinds referred the petitions to the Planning and Zoning Commission for their <br />study and recommendation and called for a public hearing at the next regular Council <br />meeting. <br />Mayor Pro -Tem Hinds declared the public hearing open and continued on the Texas Po- <br />wer & Light Company rate request. Mayor Pro -Tem Hinds stated that no new informa- <br />tion was available at this time and declared the public hearing on the rate request <br />continued to the next regular Council meeting. <br />Mrs. Sam Huggins appeared before the Council, questioning components of the rate as <br />requested by Texas Power & Light Company. ° <br />Mayor Pro -Tem Hinds called for the receipt of bid tabulations for a cab and chassis <br />for the Sanitation Department. City Manager Sweatt presented bids from Kosterman <br />Motor Company in the amount of $7,755.24 and Lowry Chevrolet in the amount of <br />$7,844.00 and recommended that the low bid of Kosterman Motor Company be approved <br />and that the vehicle be delivered to San Antonio, Texas for installation of sanita- <br />tion body. A motion was made by Councilman Williams and seconded by Councilman <br />Philley to approve the recommendation of the city manager. The motion carried: <br />6 ayes, 0 nays. <br />City Attorney Haynes presented a previously authorized ordinance relating to the Elec- <br />tric Code. Ordinance No. 2319: <br />"AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, PROVIDING THAT <br />THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF PARIS BE AMENDED BY REVISING <br />SECTIONS 11 -73, 11 -73.1, 11 -73.2 AND 11 -73.3, AMENDING CERTAIN <br />SECTIONS OF THE NATIONAL ELECTRICAL CODE, 1975 EDITION; REPEALING <br />ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWlITH; AND <br />PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE OF APRIL 1, 1977." <br />was presented.
