9 ?_ 2 <br />Dr. Joe Deupree appeared before the Council, stating that he was not against the <br />zoning change but was concerned with the flooding problem. <br />Mayor Fro -Tem Hinds declared the public hearing closed,. and Ordinance No. 2316: <br />"AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 1710 OF THE CITY OF <br />PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, AND CHANGING THE BOUNDARIES ESTABLISHED BY THE <br />ZONING MAP OF SAID CITY; ESTABLISHING A MULTIPLE FAMILY DWELLING <br />DISTRICT NO.1 (MF -1) ON LOTS 25 AND 26, CITY BLOCK 222A, UPON <br />PROPERTY OF WHICH NATHAN BELL OWNS A CURRENT OPTION, SO AS TO <br />INCLUDE THEREIN TERRITORY FORMERLY DESIGNATED AS A ONE - FAMILY <br />DWELLING DISTRICT NO. 2 (SF -2); AND DESIGNATING THE BOUNDARIES <br />OF THE MULTIPLE FAMILY DWELLING DISTRICT NO. 1 (MF -1) SO ESTAB- <br />LISHED." <br />was presented. A motion was made by Councilman Williams and seconded by Councilman <br />Swaim for the adoption of the ordinance. The motion carried: 5 ayes, 1 nay, Coun- <br />cilman Fisher voting nay. <br />Mayor Pro -Tem Hinds declared the public hearing open on the petition of Jim F.Kirby <br />for a change in zoning from a Planned Development District, One - Family Dwelling Dis- <br />trict No. 2, and a Multi-Family Dwelling District No. 1, to a Combination Planned <br />Development- Shopping Center and Office Center on Lot 9, City Block 331, located <br />on the north side of Bonham Street between 34th Street N. W. and Loop 286 N. W. <br />Mr. Jim Kirby appeared in his behalf and stated that it was his intention to leave <br />a 20 -foot wide strip of trees along the west side of 34th Street N. W. and-that an <br />8 -foot fence would be erected inside the tree line to screen the office development <br />from residences on the east side of the street. Upon questioning, Mr. Kirby stated <br />that he had no objection to exclude: - private = cliibs in the--zoning. <br />Mayor Pro -Tem Hinds called for opponents to appear, and none appeared. <br />Ordinance No. 2317: <br />"AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. .1710 OF THE CITY OF <br />PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, AND CHANGING THE BOUNDARIES ESTABLISHED BY <br />THE ZONING MAP OF SAID CITY; ESTABLISHING A PLANNED DEVELOPMENT <br />DISTRICT, SHOPPING CENTER, AND OFFICE CENTER (PD -a,f), LIMITED <br />SO AS NOT•TO INCLUDE PRIVATE CLUBS, ON LOT 9, CITY BLOCK 331, ON <br />PROPERTY BELONGING TO NEBRASKA INSURANCE COMPANY, SO AS TO INCLUDE <br />THEREIN TERRITORY FORMERLY DESIGNATED AS A PLANNED DEVELOPMENT <br />DISTRICT (PD), ONE - FAMILY DWELLING DISTRICT NO. 2 (SF -2) AND <br />MULTIPLE FAMILY DWELLING DISTRICT NO. 1 (MF -1); AND DESIGNATING <br />THE BOUNDARIES OF THE PLANNED DEVELOPMENT DISTRICT, SHOPPING <br />CENTER AND OFFICE CENTER (PD -a,f), LIMITED SO AS NOT TO INCLUDE <br />PRIVATE CLUBS,-SO ESTABLISHED." <br />was presented. The motion carried: 6 ayes, 0 nays. <br />The final plat of Dorchester Place - Phase 1 was presented, and City Manager Sweatt <br />recommended its approval. A motion was made by Councilman Williams and seconded <br />by Councilman Fisher to approve the final plat subject to the stated requirements <br />of the Director of Public Works. The motion carried: 6 ayes, 0 nays. <br />
