8��� <br />A motion was made by Councilman Fisher and seconded by Councilman Stone to approve <br />the high bids as listed with the. exception of Item 5, Barber Green -ditching machine. <br />The motion carried: 6 ayes, 0 nays. <br />A notion was made by Councilman Philley and seconded by Councilman Fisher to re- <br />ject the bid on the Barber Green ditching machine. The motion carried: 6 ayes, 0 <br />nays. <br />City t-ianager Sweatt reviewed the tabulation of bids received fora truck, chassis <br />and cab, and body for Sanitation Department and advised that only one bid for a <br />sanitation body had been received, and that that bid be rejected and the items <br />be rebid. A motion was made by Councilman Swaim and seconded by.Councilman Philley <br />to approve the recommendation of the city manager. The motion carried: 6 ayes, 0 <br />nays. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Williams and seconded by Councilman Fisher to re- <br />ceive bids for chassis and cab and the packer -type body for the Sanitation Depart- <br />ment on February 9, 1977 at 10:00 A. M. and referred to the City Council at its <br />meeting on February 14, 1977. The motion carried: 6 ayes, 0 nays. <br />City Manager Sweatt advised the Council that a resolution had been prepared at the <br />request.of Missouri- Pacific Railroad as an agreement for the City to pay full cost <br />for signal installation at the railroad tracks on Collegiate Drive. <br />Resolution No. 1780, authorizing Mayor Brunette to execute on behalf of the City of <br />Paris with the Missouri Pacific Railroad the contract for construction and installa- <br />tion of cantilever mounted flashing lights signal at Collegiate Drive crossing of <br />said railroads right-of-way, was presented. A motion was made by Councilman Philley <br />and seconded by Councilman Swaim to defeat.the resolution. The motion carried; 6 <br />ayes, 0 nays. <br />A motion was made by. Councilman Williams and seconded by Councilman Fisher to limit <br />the contract with -the railroad to $29,600.00. The motion carried: 4 ayes, 2 nays, <br />Councilman Philley and Councilman Swaim voting nay. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Williams and seconded by Councilman Fisher to approve <br />Resolution No. 1780, limiting the contract to $29,600.00 as attached to Resolution <br />No. 1780. The motion carried: 4 ayes, 2 nays, Councilman Philley and Councilman <br />Swaim voting nay. <br />
