X53 <br />PRESENTED. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Plata, seconded by Councilman Gray, for <br />adoption of the ordinance. The motion carried? ayes, 0 nays. <br />Mayor Pfiester announced that the next item on the agenda was a personal <br />appearance by Lisa McAllister, Executive Director of the Lamar County <br />Chapter of the American Red Cross, requesting the donation by the City of Paris <br />of the ambulance designated Medic 4. <br />City Manager Malone advised that Agenda Item 4.A.(1) (a) and Agenda Item <br />4.A.(1) (b) relate to the request of donation by the Lamar County Chapter ofthe <br />American Red Cross for the ambulance. He further advised that these items had <br />been tabled at a previous meeting, and a motion to bring them from the table <br />was in order. <br />A motion was made by Councilmarr Bell, seconded by Councilman McCarthy, <br />to bring the above two items from the table. The motion carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Lisa McAllister, Director of the Lamar County Chapter of the American Red <br />Cross, came forward and presented a letter from Chuck Superville, Lamar <br />County Judge, in support of the county contribution for this transaction, but <br />stated that it has no linkage or connection whatsoever with the current EMS <br />contract or other items. Ms. McAllister also read a letter on behalf of the Lamar <br />County Chapter American Red Cross giving specifics of what services they <br />provided for the city last year, and again asking for help in acquiring the disaster <br />vehicle. Ms. McAllister said that Lori Bachman, who is on the Board for the <br />Lamar County Chapter of the American Red Cross, has talked to Judge <br />Superville and some of the County Commissioners regarding this matter. <br />Max Weinberg, who is also on the Board for the Lamar County Chapter of the <br />American Red Cross, was also present.
