X31 <br />c) Establish and implement procedures to receive, accept or turn down <br />offers of donated goods and services, and provide instructions to <br />donors of needed goods or services. <br />d) In coordination with the Resource Management staff, establish a <br />facility to receive, sort, and distribute donated goods. <br />k. Legal. <br />City Attorney City of Paris <br />1) The primary responsibility for this function is assigned to City Attorney and <br />that staff, who will prepare and maintain Annex U (Legal) to this plan and <br />supporting SOP'S. <br />2) Emergency tasks to be performed include: <br />a) Advise local officials on emergency powers of local government and <br />procedures for invoking those measures. <br />b) Review and advise our officials on possible legal issues arising from <br />disaster operations. <br />c) Prepare and /or recommend legislation to implement the emergency <br />powers that may be required during and emergency. <br />d) Advise local officials and department heads on record - keeping <br />requirements and other documentation necessary for the exercising of <br />emergency powers. <br />I. Department and agency heads not assigned a specific function in this plan <br />will be prepared to make their resources available for emergency duty at the <br />direction of our chief elected official. <br />7. Volunteer & Other Services <br />Ver 1.10 <br />08/03 <br />a. Volunteer Groups. The following are local volunteer agencies that can <br />provide disaster relief services and traditionally have coordinated their efforts <br />with our local government: <br />1) American Red Cross, Lamar County Chapter <br />Provides shelter management, feeding (provided by The Salvation Army) <br />at fixed facilities and through mobile units, first aid, replacement of <br />eyeglasses and medications, provision of basic clothing, and limited <br />financial assistance to those affected by emergency situations. It also <br />provides referrals to government and private agencies for special services. <br />2) The Salvation Army. <br />34 <br />
