N <br />MINUTES <br />JOINT WORK SESSION <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />AND <br />CITY COUNCIL TASK FORCE ON CODE ENFORCEMENT <br />107 E. KAUFMAN STREET <br />PARIS, TEXAS <br />TUESDAY, MAY 6, 2008 <br />1. Call City Council meeting to order and roll call. _- <br />Mayor Freelen called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m. <br />Council Members present were Stephen Brown, Council Member - District 4; Will Biard, <br />Council Member - District 5; and Don Wilson, Council Member - District 6. Council Members absent <br />were Mary Ann Fisher, Council Member - District 1; Kevin Gray, Council Member - District 2; and <br />Bill Strathern, Council Member - District 7. <br />2. Call City Council Task Force on Code Enforcement to order and roll call. <br />Chairman Wilson called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m. <br />Committee Members present were Council Member Don Wilson, Council Member Will <br />Biard, Council Member Stephen Brown, Jim Lassiter, Don Taylor, John House, Shannon Barrentine <br />for Pete Kampfer, Bee Garmon, Jerry Rose, and John Fuston. Committee Members absent were <br />Bruce Frazier, Jerome Pipkins, Marilyn Bellevance, and Zachary Saffle. <br />Also present were Kevin Carruth, City Manager; Kent McIlyar, City Attorney; Lisa Wright, <br />—' Director of Community Development; Janice Ellis, City Clerk; Lt. Randy Tuttle, Police Department; <br />and Ronnie Grooms, Fire Chief. <br />3. Invocation. <br />Council Member Brown gave the invocation. <br />4. Pledge of Allegiance. <br />Council Member Biard led the pledge. <br />5. Discussion of and possible action on recommending revisions to the ordinance regulating <br />billboards, off - premise signs, and temporary signs. <br />Chairman Wilson said the staff had brought to this meeting their recommended revisions, <br />as well as a map reflecting locations that different types of signs can be placed.
