O U r� <br />explained the coding on the map and told the Task Force there were currently 61 billboards. <br />Council Member Wilson said he favored restricting placement of billboards to light industrial and <br />heavy industrial areas outside the loop. <br />A Motion to restrict the placement of billboards to light industrial and heavy industrial areas <br />outside the loop was made by Jerry Rose and seconded by Bee Garmon. The Motion carried <br />unanimously. <br />Chairman Wilson moved through the following sections of the proposed ordinance and it was <br />a consensus of the Task Force to make the following changes: <br />(d) Location of billboards. <br />(1) The sentence was changed to end after the word "loop ". <br />(3) The sentence was deleted. <br />(6) The required feet will be changed from 100 feet to 500 feet and the words <br />"ground- mounted" was deleted. <br />(8) The required feet was changed from 100 feet to 1,000 feet. <br />(9)(b) The setback required was changed from 5 feet to 100 feet and "rear" will be <br />changed to "either side." <br />(9)(c) The setback required was changed from 5 feet to 100 feet and "rear" will be <br />changed to "either side." <br />(10) This section was deleted. <br />(11) This section was deleted. <br />(12) This section was deleted. <br />(g) Electronic billboards. <br />Chairman Wilson inquired from the Committee how they wanted to handle electronic <br />billboards. Council Member Biard stated electronic billboards were distracting. Bee Garmon, John <br />House, and Jerry Rose agreed with Council Member Biard. Mayor Freelen said they created a <br />nuisance for neighborhoods. <br />A Motion to prohibit electronic billboards was made by Don Taylor and seconded by John <br />House. The Motion carried unanimously. <br />(h) Non - conforming structures. <br />It was a consensus to accept the changes as written in Draft #3. <br />Chairman Wilson moved the Task Force to item 8 on page 28. <br />(8) Window signs. <br />Page 2 of 4 <br />
