Paris Convention and Visitors Council <br />Lamar County Chamber of Commerce <br />January 29, 2015 <br />4:00 p.m. <br />Present: Derald Bulls, Jeff Martin, Edwin Pickle, Mike Patterson, Carolyn Patterson, Mary Lou <br />Coe, Erik Roddy, Jeff Martin, Stephen Gerrald, Raju Patel, Gail Dority, Suzy Harper, Matt <br />Frierson, Steve Keywood, Greg Wilson and Roy Gwinn. <br />Staff: Becky Semple, Gina Crawford <br />Co- Chairman Derald Bulls called the meeting to order at 4:00 p.m. <br />Bill Loranger, City of Paris, was introduced and spoke about the dead trees and low water crossing issues <br />at the Trail de Paris. He stated that the City would be cleaning and asked that the VCC approve $700 for <br />low water and $8000 for tree cleanup. The motion could not be made, due to not being on the agenda. <br />A special meeting will be held on February 4, 2015, to approve this. A motion to approve special <br />meeting was made by Roy Gwinn, seconded by Mike Patterson. Motion passed. <br />Jeff Martin presented the financials. A motion to accept was made by Erik Roddy, seconded by Mike <br />Patterson. Motion passed. <br />A motion to approve minutes was made by Greg Wilson, seconded by Mike Patterson, and passed. <br />Funding requests were presented for Paris Wine Fest and Chisum Days. Paris Wine Fest was awarded <br />$800, which makes the VCC a Private Label Sponsor. Motion to approve was made by Erik Roddy, <br />seconded by Mike Patterson. Chisum Days was awarded $500. A motion to approve was made by Greg <br />Wilson, seconded by Mary Lou Coe. Motion passed. <br />Election of officers and they will retroactive from October 2014 to September 2015. Chairman elected <br />was Bobby Walters, Co -Chair was Derald Bulls. Motion to approve was made by Jeff Martin, seconded <br />by Mike Patterson. Motion passed. <br />Derald Bulls reported that the Tour de Paris needs to form a committee, in order for the event to <br />become larger. Edwin Pickle agreed to be a part of this committee. <br />Becky spoke about some upcoming events that we are trying to get to come to Paris. <br />Stephen Gerrald spoke about the fireworks and asked the VCC board members to consider being <br />sponsors. <br />With no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 5:07 p.m. <br />Respectfully Submitted, <br />Becky Semple <br />
